Francis D. Patterson, 91, of Union City, Ohio passed away Monday March 17, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born September 16, 1933, in Randolph County, son of the late Paul and Ogoa Skidmore Patterson.
Francis was a lifelong farmer and worked as a Machinist for Westinghouse for 35+ years, where he retired from, he also worked at Fitzgerald Tool and Die, Lobdell-Emery MFG, and Reeser Machine. He married Peggy Maines on July 18, 1953.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 71 ½ years, Peggy Maines Patterson; children, Kathy (Doyel) Daniels, Julie (Jeff) Floyd, and Bonnie Amspaugh all of Union City, OH; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents he was preceded by a son, Mike Patterson “2005;” a son-in-law, Donnie Amspaugh “2018;” a great grandson, Cody Daniels; siblings, John Patterson, Helen Goers, and Ann Swabb.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Thursday March 27, at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc. A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Friday March 28, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Union City with Father Logsdon serving as the celebrant. Burial will be held later at the convenience of the family.
