MAY 27, 1934 – DECEMBER 10, 2022
Franklin R. Nichols, age 88, went to be with his Lord Jesus on December 10, 2022.
He was born near Byer in Jackson County, Ohio on May 27, 1934 to the late Paul and Dora (Blagg) Nichols.
Franklin was a graduate of Westmont High School. He was a retired farmer and also retired after serving 12 years as a Liberty Township Trustee. As a Trustee he also served on the Tri- Village Rescue Services Board. Over the years he served at Palestine Church of Christ as custodian, deacon, elder, and teacher. Franklin enjoyed woodworking as a hobby and liked gospel music.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lois, and six children, Deborah Rader, Tom (wife Denise), Tim (wife Karen), Gary (wife Carol), Wanda Roberts (husband Rick), and Dawna Remencus. The family includes 17 grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. There are also several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frank is also survived by a sister, Marva Moore, and a brother Ivan.
He was preceded in death by a brother Wayne Evan, and a son, Wayne Franklin.
A celebration of life will be held at Palestine Church of Christ on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Mike Simmons presiding. Visitation will take place for an hour prior to service.
