Darke County- After Versailles and Arcanum were eliminated last week from playoff contention, only.two teams remain in the hunt for a trip to Canton and a state title.

The Patriots will take their skills t0 Marion Local to do battle with the defending state championship.

Closer to home, Ansonia will host Ft. Laramie.

The Redskins rolled over Ridgemont, 49-22 last week while the Patriots were winners over Waynesfield Goshen, 43-7.

The Tigers (#4) rolled over Twin Valley South a week ago to advance.

“They (Loramie) are coming off a big win last week against Ridgemont and would love nothing more than to come here and take us out,” said Ansonia coach Adam George. “Our kids are pumped up and ready to go. It’s not going to be easy.”

One thing the Tigers will need to be at peak is their defense.

“Our defense has stood tall the last few weeks,” George pointed out. “They’ve been stopping everyone Hallsince the middle of the season.

“Those guys on the front line have been protecting Layne quite well and I’m happy with them,” said George. “They’re going to have their hands full with them.”

Tri-Village will need to play a near perfect game against Marion Local.

“We’re going to need to play mistake free football and I’m not sure that’s possible,” said Pats coach Matt Hopkin “These kids are the best in the state and they prove themselves every Friday night. We’re going to have to play at our best.”

Both games will start at 7 p.m.
