Gail D. Stump

April 26, 1934 — December 9, 2024

Gail D. Stump, 90, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, at the EverHeart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. 

He was born on April 26, 1934, at Bucks Corner in Darke County, to the late Prosper and Lucy Stump. In addition to his parents, Gail is preceded in death by his siblings, Annabelle and Glen Mote, Evelyn and Marvin Middaugh, Jenola and Orla Miller, Keith and Donna Stump, Kate and Aaron Schrolucke, and Duetta and Earl Hollinger; sister in law, Carol Frank; sister in law and brother in law, Norma and Roland Luedeke; and a grandchild. 

Gail is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Hazel B. (Frank) Stump, whom he married on May 3, 1953; his children, Christine Lemon of Greenville and Dana (Joyce) Stump of Florida; granddaughter, Brianna Lane; brother in law, Everett Frank; and numerous nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren. 

Gail was a veteran of the United States Army from 1955-1957. He retired from Corning Glass as a maintenance mechanic for 40 years. He also did dry wall all his life. Gail was a member of EUM Church since 1961. He was a member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge #143; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton; Antioch Shrine Masons of Dayton; and Darke County Shrine Club. He loved to go fishing and mushroom hunting. Gail participated in mission work and his main job during was doing dry wall. 

A celebration of Gail’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Tribute Funeral Homes with Pastor Janie Detling and Rev. John McRoberts officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. 

Guests may visit with Gail’s family on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:30 PM and again on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus. A Masonic memorial service followed by a Scottish Rite Ring service will be held on Friday at 7:30 PM at the funeral home.
