BRADFORD- Take nothing away from the Bradford Lady Railroaders.
When they hit the floor, they’re going all out with all cylinders running.
Bradford fell to a dismal 4-9 on the season after falling to Troy Christian Tuesday, 56-37.
The effort was there for Bradford coach Josh Siedling and he was happy with the effort.
“We came out and we hustled and never stopped. The final score does not reflect how this game was played” said Siedling. “I couldn’t be more proud of these girls. We’re a young team and at the end of the day they don’t give up. We fight to the very end and that’s the way the process has to be. We push through the face of adversity so I’m very proud of them. “
The downfall for the Roaders came in the second quarter when the Eagles flew high, holding Bradford scoreless until late in the frame.
Bradford trailed 19-12 after one quarter but could only muster five points in the quarter, trailing 28-17 at the break.
“We couldn’t buy a basket,” admitted Siedling. “It was as if someone had put a lid on it and nothing was dropping for us. We’re a very young team and we don’t know how to put four quarters together. If we come out a hit half those shots we would normally hit, we’re in this game right to the end. We just gotta keep going back to work and improve on that second quarter. We battled a fought hard and regardless of the scoreboard, we kept going.”
While turnovers were a huge part of the Roaders woes m there were some good points.
Bradford hit the boards a stayed on top of the rebounding.
“That is a point of emphasis for us,” Siedling quipped. “We have to win the offensive battle on the boards and we do that. I’m proud of our rebounding on both ends of the floor. We played hard for 32 minutes and I can’t ask for much more.”
