Gary Wayn Combs

OCTOBER 2, 1956 – JANUARY 13, 2024

Gary Wayn Combs, 67, of Greenville, Ohio passed away on January 13, 2024 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio at 8:47 PM. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Gary was born on October 2, 1956 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Robert and Betty (Wilson) Combs. He began his career as a semi-truck driver and quickly became known for his hard work and dedication for many years before retirement.

In addition to his parents Robert and Betty (Wilson) Combs. His Sisters Carol Barns and Karen Tucker. And Brother, Bob (Deb) Combs. And his Brother-in-law Woody Gwenn.

He is survived by his loving wife Lori Combs, his Daughter Aerin Combs, two grandchildren Ashton Combs and Avery Combs. His Sisters Joyce Gwenn, and Teresa (Rick) Etter. As well as numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Gary was a kind and caring person who always made time for his grandchildren. He would spend numerous hours with them enjoying their company and watching them grow! He was very passionate about Ohio State Football, but he also loved the Cleveland Browns.

On February 12, 1983, Gary married the love of his life, Lori. She wasn’t just his wife, she was his other half, his best friend. They were blessed with one daughter, Aerin Combs. Gary was a devoted parent and always made sure to create special memories with his family.

Throughout his life, Gary faced many challenges, but he never let it dampen his spirit. He was a fighter and always remained positive, inspiring those around them. His strength and resilience will never be forgotten.

Gary will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who were lucky enough to know him. He will be remembered as a loving spouse, a devoted parent, a loyal friend, and an adoring Pappy.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 3pm at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Jerry K. Carter presiding. The family will be receiving guests after the service. Donations can be made to the Darke County Cancer Society in memory of Gary. He will be forever in our hearts and will never be forgotten.
