Geraldine (Barnes) Shepherd age 82, of Greenville passed away at 4:07 pm Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Village Green Healthcare Center in Greenville.
Geraldine was born March 17, 1940, in Harlan, Kentucky, to the late Frank & Stella (Haney) Barnes. Geraldine was also preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Robert L. Shepherd; and siblings, Eloise Hamblin, Harold Barnes, Charlotte Howard and Michael Barnes.
Geraldine is survived by her children, Alice (Walter) Brown, Robert (Shirley) Shepherd Jr., Leon Shepherd, Raymond Shepherd and Samuel (Tish) Shepherd; grandchildren, Brian, Ashley, Kristina, Brandon, Kayla, Hannah, Alex, Josh, and Jacob; great grandchildren, Carleigh, Kennedy, Finnegan, Paisley, Aurora, Grace, Cylus, Rowan, Alec, Scarlett, Olivia and Jayden; siblings, Mary (Topsy) Wintrow, her Sister Dearest, James, Danny, Patricia, Mike and Terry; and step mother, Martha Barnes.
Geraldine retired from Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville with 26 years of service. She was a Charter member of Hickory Grove United Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, October 24, 2022, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Fred Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
