Grand Opening of Eagles Landing: A Celebration of History and Modern Elegance

On October 18, the Burns family proudly celebrated the grand opening of Eagles Landing, a venue that beautifully marries rich history with modern amenities. This remarkable space is a revival of history that has been meticulously restored to meet today’s standards.

A Historical Gem

Originally constructed in 1900, the barn was one of fewer than 30 unique round barns left in Ohio, standing as a testament to a bygone era for over a century. When the barn was generously gifted to the Burns family in 2015, they recognized its beauty and potential. Over the next seven years, the family painstakingly disassembled the structure, preserving its materials with a vision for restoration.

In 2023, the rebuilding process commenced, guided by blueprints reflecting the barn’s original architecture. Every detail was carefully considered, with salvaged materials integrated into the new building, including interior siding, the iconic cupola, and the original roof trusses. This dedication to preservation ensures that the history of the barn is not just maintained, but celebrated.

Adding to the Legacy

The venue’s history extends beyond the barn itself. The Dayton and Union Railroad once ran alongside the property from the late 1800s until 1965. In a nod to this legacy, the Burns family brought in two historic train cars, generously donated by the Connersville Train Society. These cars will serve as bridal and groom suites, adding another layer of charm to the venue.

The red caboose, a highlight of the renovation, not only functions as a bridal suite but also starred in a 1940s film, connecting the venue to Hollywood history. Meanwhile, the rustic boxcar, which will serve as a groom suite, boasts a storied past of transporting U.S. troops during both World Wars.

A Modern Venue with Timeless Appeal

Eagles Landing is designed to accommodate 200-225 guests, featuring a versatile open layout that is usable year-round. Climate-controlled spaces ensure comfort regardless of the season, and the venue is fully handicap accessible, making it inclusive for all guests.

The outdoor ceremony area, adorned with a charming wooden arbor, provides a picturesque setting for weddings and events, allowing guests to enjoy the serene beauty of the surrounding landscape.

A Bright Future

The Burns family envisions this venue as a place where memories are made, celebrating life’s milestones in a setting that respects and honors its historical roots.
