It was a great fundraising event on Saturday in the Family Dollar parking lot of Arcanum! Many people showed their support for Graham Guttadore, an Arcanum firefighter, and Lauren Mowen.
A car pulled out in front of the biker couple end of June and Guttadore and Mowen were seriously injured in this accident. Guttadore spent many weeks in the hospital and more surgeries will be necessary. Mowen was in the hospital for about 2 weeks. There is still a very long road of recovery ahead of them.
Fortunately, there is a strong and caring community helping them morally as well as financially, since neither one of them will be able to get back to work for a long time.
Saturday’s fundraiser event drew a lot of supporters. Chris Lovett and his wife Tammy (owners of the HOGG SHOP on SR 49 outside of Arcanum) have outdone themselves. Both are well known for always helping out where help is needed and organizing fundraising events, but this time it looks like they topped everything they’ve done before: CareFlight brought the bird, Carl’s Body Shop from Dayton displayed their 1966 Batmobile and the Bat motorcycle with Robin’s sidecar and Arcanum’s Fire Department was there with a truck.
Local businesses supported the event as well as the Village of Arcanum.
The event was a big success and brought in about 6K so far, with more donations coming every day. Guttadore, Mowen, their families and the Lovett’s want to thank everyone who supported the couple so far!
But the bills for the couple continue to come in as well, so Chris Lovett and his wife Tammy don’t stop with this fundraiser event. They continue taking donations for the support of the couple. If you want to help and support the couple, you may contact the HOGG SHOP.
The Lovett’s and the HOGG SHOP are also supporting homeless veterans (Journey Home) and many other organizations and causes.
