In March, through the Elks National Foundation Spotlight Grant, the Greenville Elks Lodge was happy to donate $2000 to the Darke County United Way, Inc. for The Dolly Parton Imagination Library. “Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, no matter their family’s income.”
Currently there are 2,073 children from all over Darke County receiving books every month. The program started in the county in April of 2010 and there have been 132,621 books sent out to children in Darke County from then until now.
