Four students competed in the Drop the Mic invitational hosted by Bloom-Carroll FFA. This event was an opportunity for students to prepare for the upcoming public speaking contest. The preliminary rounds were conducted virtually with the top 10 students from each speaking contest moving on to the in-person finals this past Saturday, January 27th. Students were able to compete in either Creed, Beginning Prepared, Advanced Prepared or Extemporaneous.
The Greenville FFA had two students advance to the finals and place in the top 5!
Students who competed in the preliminary round and did not move on were Emma Stith in the creed contest and Allison Francis in extemporaneous.
Taylor Trissel competed in the final round in beginning prepared and placed 5th with her speech on biotechnology in animal agriculture. Jayden Hicks placed 2nd overall in the extemporaneous contest and received a gift card for his accomplishment.
Both students received a Drop the Mic tote for making it to the finals.
Congratulations to all of these students on a job well done and to Taylor and Jayden for making it to the finals!
