Property Damage
On December 19, 2023 at approximately 9:45 hours police was dispatched to 309 Bucoba Street in Greenville, Ohio, in reference to a physical altercation between Glenn Mitchell and Joseph Mogle. PO found Mitchell is the homeowner of 309 Bucoba and Mogle has been living at 309 Bucoba since September 2023, with Mogle paying Mitchell $200.00 every two weeks for rent, although there is not a written rental agreement and Mogle does not have a key to the residence. Pertaining to the altercation between Mogle and Mitchell, on December 19, 2023, Mogle was preparing to walk to work at Spartech in Greenville, Ohio. Due to the cold weather conditions, Mitchell was concerned for Mogle’s safety as Mitchell did not believe Mogle was wearing sufficient clothing for the elements, thus a verbal argument ensued. During the verbal argument, Mitchell admitted to touching Mogle’s leg after Mogle claimed he was wearing two pairs of pants. Mitchell’s actions caused Mogle to become extremely upset. Mitchell proceeded to order Mogle to leave the residence, which Mogle complied as Mogle needed to leave for work. Once Mogle exited the residence, Mitchell closed and locked the front entrance door. Instead of leaving for work, Mogle remained in the front yard area of the residence and continued to yell at Mitchell, along with threatening Mitchell with bodily harm. While threatening Mitchell, Mogle went to the front door of Mitchell’s residence and after finding the front door was locked, Mogle ordered Mitchell to unlock the front entrance door. Mogle further threatened Mitchell by stating if Mitchell failed to unlock the door, Mogle would shatter one of the small windows located at the top of the front entrance door. According to Mitchell, Mogle yelled at Mitchell and threatened to shatter the window for approximately five minutes before Mogle proceeded to punch the center window in the front entrance door, which caused the window to shatter. It is unknown why Mogle wanted to re-enter the residence as Mogle indicated he was in possession of all of the items he needed for work, Mogle did not indicate there was an emergency which would require Mogle to enter Mitchell’s residence and even if it was necessary for Mogle to enter the residence, Mogle would not have been able to unlock the front entrance door by reaching through the shattered window. Upon inquiring why Mogle shattered the window, Mogle admitted he knowingly and intentionally shattered the window solely due to Mitchell locking Mogle out of the residence. Mitchell voluntarily provided a written statement and filled-out a victim’s rights form. Another PO responded to the scene and utilized a digital camera to take digital images of the broken window. The digital images were sent to the Greenville Police Department’s records division for proper storage. Mogle was advised of the offense and served a copy of misdemeanor citation #GM022948 for criminal damaging. At this time, further investigation is not required and I consider this case closed.
