Theft

On December 25th, 2023 at approximately 7:49 AM police was dispatched to the parking lot of the Greenville Police Department in reference to a Theft Not in Progress. PO made contact with Ashley Littlepage. Ashley advised her Ex Boyfriend, James Gibson had not shown up to an agreed meeting at the Greenville Police Department to exchange their dog and $230.00. James and Ashley were dating for approximately four months and resided together. James and Ashley recently broke up. James moved out of the residence and took their dog with him. Ashley advised PO James had gained access to her Facebook account and logged into her Facebook Pay. Ashley advised she has bank statements that show James sent himself $230.00 from her Facebook Pay account. Ashley advised she had spoken with James and agreed that he would not have to pay her back if he gave her the dog back. Ashley advised James had driven past her house over the weekend and saw that she had a male friend at her house. Ashley advised that made James angry and that he called her and advised her that he would not meet her to exchange money or the dog. PO did speak to Ashley and James about this exchange on December 22nd, 2023 and at that time they did agree to meet and exchange the dog and money at the Greenville Police Department today at 8:00 AM. James admitted on December 22nd, 2023 that he did log into Ashley’s Facebook but did not take any money. James advised Ashley sent him the money for his part in the rent. James advised he would pay her anyway just to make peace with Ashley. PO advised Ashley to send him the bank statements via e-mail and that PO would send this report to the Prosecutor’s Office for review of charges. Ashley advised she would send PO the bank statements via e-mail. PO collected a statement form from Ashley. Ashley also filled out a victim’s rights form. After speaking to Ashley, PO attempted to make contact with James by phone two times and was unable to do so. Shortly after Ashley left, she returned and gave PO the bank statements that show money being transferred to James. There was two transactions to James on 12/21/2023. The first transaction was for $100 at 8:18 PM and the second transaction to was at 8:21 PMs for $90.00. There was a third transaction to James on 12/22/2023 at 4:34 AM for $40.00.

Shoplifting

On December 28, 2023 at approximately 7:50 PM policeresponded to 1501 Wagner Avenue reference a shoplifting complaint. PO made contact with the complainant, Jodi Edger and the suspect, Courtney Simason. Jodi stated that she observed Courtney placing tags onto multiple items that they did not belong to while she was scanning at the self checkout. Jodi stated that she then observed Courtney exit the store without paying full price for multiple items. Jodi stated that she then approached Courtney and brought her to the asset protection office. PO then spoke to Courtney. Courtney admitted to scanning incorrect tags because she did not have enough money to pay for them. PO then asked Courtney if he could search her person and her purse which she consented too. Inside of Courtneys purse PO located multiple kids toys, makeup, and Christmas Cards that Courtney admitted were stolen. Courtney also admitted to stealing or not paying full price for the other items that included more children’s toys, makeup, balls of yarn, clothes, and beauty supplies. In total Courtney stole 42 items, totaling $422.66. Courtney paid $98 for these items. Walmart reimbursed Courtney the $98 on a gift card. Courtney was issued a citation for theft and advised of her court date. Jodi filled out a written statement and a victims rights form reference this incident. Jodi also provided video footage from Walmart of the incident, which will be placed into property at the Greenville Police Department. Photos of the stolen property will also be attached to this report. All of the stolen property was recovered and returned to Walmart.

Theft

On December 29th 2023 at 9:20 AM police was dispatched to 1241 Russ Road; ACE Hardware in reference to a theft complaint. PO made contact with store manager Dylan Hesson, who advised on December 11th 2023 at approximately 5:23 PM, a male subject came into the store opening a box for a Nebo head lamp then placing the item in his pocket and then walking past the point of sale. Dylan showed PO the video where you see a male subject with short blonde facial hair, and blonde hair. The male subject appeared to have a mole or skin blemish on the left side of his face near his ear. The male subject was wearing a blue and white flannel, a dark blue ball cap and light colored blue jeans. The male subject walks down the battery aisle opening a box of Nebo headlamp then placing the box back down. The male then walks away, down another aisle grabbing a can of spray paint. He later comes back to the same aisle picking the box with the Nebo head lamp inside, walking out of that aisle and down another one where he takes the Nebo head lamp out of the box and placing it into his pockets, then placing the empty box on a different shelf behind other store merchandise. The male subjects continues to the checkout where he pays for the can of spray paint, using his card identifying himself as Zachariah Denham. The male subject then leaves past the point of sale not paying for the Nebo head lamp. PO later confirmed the identity of Zachariah through his BMV photo through LEADS/NCIC matching the same male subject from ACE hardware security video. Dylan also showed PO video of the vehicle the male subject drove, which was a gray ford escape bearing JSJ 1105, when checking through LEADS/NCIC it returned to Carmen Denham, mother of Zachariah Denham. The video footage from ACE has been placed into GPD property as evidence. Statement and victim’s rights for was filled out by store Manager Dylan, both will be attached to this report. Zachariah is to be served Misdemeanor citation for theft when located. Dylan stated that they noticed the theft while doing inventory of the store, one of the staff members located the empty head lamp box located behind the car batteries. They then reviewed the security’s video locating Zachariah committing the offense.

Trespassing

On December 29th, 2023 police was dispatched to 501 Euclid Avenue in reference to a criminal trespass complaint. PO made contact with the victim, Ashley Littlepage. Littlepage advised while she was at a hearing trying to obtain a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, James Gibson, came onto her property. James dropped off dog food onto the front porch. Littlepage also stated there was a note left about the dog her and the Gibson had in common. The note talked about exchanging the dog. Littlepage showed PO a video from her surveillance camera of a male walking onto her porch with a gray tote. The male, who was identified as James Gibson, set the tote down and slid the note onto the lid. The video showed Gibson on the property and front porch at approximately 11: 28AM at 12/29/23. PO made contact with Gibson via telephone and advised him of the complaint. Gibson advised he was just trying to make arraignments for getting Littlepage the dog. Gibson admitted to being on the property. Gibson was warned on 12/22/2023 for criminal trespass. Arraignments were made for Littlepage and Gibson to exchange the dog at Greenville Police Department. Littlepage gave a written witness statement as well completed her victims right form. A copy of the surveillance video was obtained and was placed into property. James was issued a citation for criminal trespass.

Shoplifting

On December 29th 2023 at approximately 3:28 PM police was dispatched to 1501 Wagner avenue; Walmart in reference to a theft that occurred on November 17th 2023 at approximately 8:11 PM. PO spoke with complainant, Loss and Prevention Officer Jodi Edgar. Jodi advised that she received an email from other Walmart locations regarding a Michael Johnson involved in multiple thefts. Jodi stated that she was aware of the theft on November 17th but did not file a police report due to her being unable to identify him at the time. When reviewing security video she found that Michael was inside the store on November 17th 2023 at approximately 8:11 PM. In the video Michael is seen wearing a gray jacket, gray ball cap and glasses. Michael walks through the store grabbing multiple items, valuing a total of $1,452.84. After gathering the items Michael exits a fire door near the automotive section. When doing this a black Jeep pulls up at the same time. Michael puts the items in the back of the vehicle then leaves. Jodi informed PO that she got the identity of Michael from a Det. of Oxford OH Police Department. PO spoke with the Det. over the phone. He informed PO that he interviewed Michael and admitted to shoplifting from the Greenville Walmart along with other Walmarts in the area. The Det. emailed PO copies of the reports and a video of the admission from Michael. All reports from Oxford PD will be attached to this report. In total Michael stole 15 items, totaling 1,452.84. Itemized list will be attached to this report. No charges at this time, this case will need further investigation.

Traffic Stop

On December 30, 2023 around 2:13 AM police was dispatched to Sloopy’s, 1240 E Russ Rd, in reference to an assault. Prior to the police’s arrival PO was told the suspect had gotten into a gold colored Cadillac and was exiting the parking lot. PO was traveling down E Russ Rd at the time and could see the suspect vehicle leaving Sloopy’s. PO was able to catch up the suspect vehicle at E Fourth St and Ohio St. PO found the vehicle was not a Cadillac but a Mercury, with expired plates. The vehicle was stopped for the expired plates at the intersection of E Fourth St and Imo Blvd. When PO approached the drivers side of the vehicle PO located the defendant, known to him as Casey L Shultz, in the drivers seat, with a Jacob Daniel in the passengers seat. Casey had an odor of an alcoholic beverage on her person, as well as glassy, bloodshot eyes. PO asked Casey if she was coming from Sloopy’s? Casey responded she was. Casey was asked how much she had drank? Casey stated 2 pink lemonades with Tito’s Vodka. Later Casey also added that she had 2 glasses of wine before she went to Sloopy’s. Casey was asked if she was involved in a fight at Sloopy’s? Casey said she had been and PO could see she was wearing a torn tank top. PO believed Casey to be intoxicated so PO had her step out of the vehicle to perform some field sobriety tests. Casey complied and performed the tests poorly. PO could see all 6 clues on the horizontal nystagmus test, Casey put her foot down and restarted her count on the one leg stand test. On the walk and turn test Casey had to ask for directions again, did not turn properly, and was not walking heel to toe on the back 9 steps. Casey was arrested for OVI and taken back to the cruiser where she was read her Miranda Rights. Casey stated she understood her rights and wanted to speak to PO about the assault. The registered owner of the vehicle Casey had been driving, now known to PO as Carlotta Washington, was contacted and later picked up the vehicle. Casey was transported to the Greenville PD where she was read and shown the BMV 2255 form. Casey refused to submit to a breath test and was placed under an immediate automatic license suspension. Casey was issued a citation for OVI and driving with expired plates. Casey was released to Carlotta
