Drugs
On September 29th, 2023, at approximately 11:05 PM police observed a White 2007 Toyota being operated east bound on Martin Street near Hiddeson Avenue. PO observed that the listed vehicle had window tint that appeared to be darker than allowed by State law. A traffic stop was made on the listed vehicle in the 100 block of Tillman Avenue. PO approached the vehicle and confirmed the driver to be Darrian Renz. Through LEADS/NCIC PO confirmed the vehicle did belong to Darrian. PO also confirmed the passenger in the vehicle to be Gracyn Eldred. When PO was talking with Darrian PO could smell an odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle. PO asked Darrian if he had a medical Marijuana card and he advised yes. Darrian provided PO that card which showed it was expired as of 6/19/2023. PO then asked the passenger for her medical marijuana card and she provided PO hers that was also expired as of 8/31/23. PO then asked the driver if there was any marijuana in the vehicle and he advised yes. Darrian then provided PO an empty container with “dab” wax residue. The container was not a medical container and had no medical label. PO then asked the subjects to exit the vehicle so PO could search their vehicle and their person. Darrian exited and PO began to search his person. PO located in Darrian’s hoodie pocket a sandwich baggy of marijuana. The marijuana was taken as evidence/property. PO then searched the vehicle and located no other drugs or paraphernalia. The transparency of the tint was tested using window tint meter# 2022050265. This test showed only 15% of available light being allowed to pass thru the tint. Both subjects were released from the scene and the marijuana was taken as property. Darrian was also issued a citation reference the possession of marijuana.
Nuisance Abatement
On October 4th, 2023 a nuisance abatement code violation was initiated at 774 Gardenwood Drive. This nuisance abatement code violation was initiated due to the increase amount of criminal activity on the premises. Since 12/14/2022, the 10 reports and or calls for service have occurred at this address. Due to the frequency and the types of criminal activity at 774 Gardenwood Drive Avenue, PO prepared a City of Greenville Nuisance Abatement Code Notice and Order. The frequency and types of criminal activity at this address disturbs the general welfare, peace, quietude, and safety of the general public. PO performed a search of the Darke County Auditors website and PO looked the address up on the Darke County Auditors page and found that it is owned by Monique Phlipot. On October 4th, 2023, 774 Gardenwood Drive. The resident and owner of the address, Monique Phlipot was served her copy of the Abatement Code notice. An email was sent to the Safety Service Director Ryan Delk advising him that a nuisance abatement order was issued at this property.
Disorderly Conduct
On October 8th 2023 at 3:59 PM police was dispatched to 201 Wagner Avenue, Speedway in reference to a disorderly male subject walking in the street. Other POs had an earlier interaction with the male subject who identified himself as William Reymiller who had locked himself in the Speedway bathroom for about 45 minutes. The other POs had William exit the bathroom and was sent on his way without further incident at the time. PO made contact with Store Manager Stephanie Dotson who advised that William was intoxicated and walking in the street with busy traffic near Speedway. Stephanie also informed PO that William was behind the building banging on the emergency exit door. Stephanie stated that she spoke to William asking him to leave the property, William told her he needed 15 minutes and he would be gone. After approximately 15 minutes Stephanie returned outside to find William still sitting against the building drinking a beer, William informed Stephanie that he was leaving. Two more customers complained to Stephanie about William being behind the building. Stephanie stated that was when she called the Greenville Police Department. Stephanie then advised she wanted William trespassed from the property. PO observed William outside behind the building sitting on the ground leaning against the building with a duffel bag full of his belonging along with one sealed and one opened 30 oz Natty Daddy beers. PO observed William drinking one of the beers. PO made contact with him instructing him to pour his beer out, in which he did. PO informed William that Speedway wanted him trespassed from the property. William attempted to stand up stumbling and catching himself on the walls. William attempted to gather his duffel bag but stumbled and let it fall to the ground. It was then William stated that he was not leaving and wanted to go to jail because he had nowhere to go. PO advised William of options such as the homeless shelter and a voucher for the Townhouse. William stated that he did not want to go to either of those places and just wanted to go to jail again. PO informed William several more times that he needed to leave the property and to which he refused every time. PO spoke with Stephanie again asking if she wanted to press charges on William for refusing to leave. After speaking with her General Manger on the phone Stephanie advised they wanted to press charges for trespassing and disorderly conduct. PO spoke with William again informing him he had to leave or he would be charged with criminal trespass and be arrested. William refused again and PO placed William in handcuffs. William and his belongings were searched incident to arrest and no contraband was found. PO transported William to Darke County Jail where he was incarcerated for Criminal Trespass and Disorderly Conduct. William was served both copies of his citations and advised of his court date and time.
Theft
On October 8, 2023 at approximately 6:54 PM police responded to 307 Morrow Street reference a theft not in progress. PO made contact with the victim, Dwight Houdeshell. Dwight stated that at approximately 4:30 PM today he came outside and noticed that the drivers side door to his blue Ford sedan was slightly open. Dwight stated that he did not leave it like that, and when he looked inside, he noticed that a bunch of CD’s had been taken out of the center console and were laying inside of the car. Dwight also stated that a blue key ring that had keys to a 1989 Harley Davidson, 1973 Triumph Motorcycle, and a key to a garage that he owns in Lewisburg were missing. Dwight stated that one of the motorcycles is in the garage in Lewisburg and the other is at another location in the City of Greenville. Dwight did not provide the addresses. Dwight stated that the last time that he saw the vehicle with the items in it was around 8:00 PM on 10/7. Dwight does not have any cameras and did not see or hear anything. Dwight also cleaned the car up prior to the police’s arrival. Dwight filled out a written statement and victims rights form. PO then spoke to two of Dwight’s neighbors. Neither stated that they saw anything and did not have cameras on their houses. PO also looked around the surrounding houses and did not see any exterior cameras. Photos were taken of the inside and outside of Dwight’s car. There are no further leads or suspects in this case. Nothing Further.
Traffic Stop
On October 10th, 2023, at approximately 5:30 p. m. police observed the listed Red 2001 Honda Civic being operated east bound on East Main Street near Wagner Avenue. Through LEADS/NCIC PO confirmed the license plate being displayed on the rear, HXT5811, returned to a Brown 1994 Dodge Truck. It was also confirmed the license plates belonged to Theodore Heiligenberg. A traffic stop was made on the listed vehicle on East Main Street near Virginia Avenue. PO approached the vehicle and confirmed the operator to be Joseph Ressler. Joseph advised that he just bought the vehicle and he also advised he did not have a license. PO then observed the passenger in the vehicle to be Nicholas Neal. Through LEADS/NCIC it was confirmed that Joseph was under a non-compliance license suspension from 10/24/2017 to indefinite. PO then requested another PO and his K9 partner to his location. The Officer arrived and deployed his partner, which the result was a positive alert. Joseph and Nicholas were asked to exit the vehicle and a search was completed. Only an old marijuana pipe was located which was later disposed of. The vehicle was towed by Hurd’ s Towing, see tow report. Joseph was also issued a copy of his citation.
Drugs
On October 12, 2023 at 8 AM, while assigned as the SRO at Greenville High School, 100 Greenwave Way, PO was informed by Assistant Principal Clayton Westerbeck of a student, who was found to be in possession of a marihuana grinder on school grounds. Mr. Westerbeck handed PO the marihuana grinder, which was silver in color. The grinder had loose marihuana contained inside of it and when opened, smelled strongly of raw marihuana. The student admitted to being in possession of the grinder that belonged to him, and stated the green substance inside was marihuana. PO completed a misdemeanor citation reference possession of marihuana paraphernalia and issued the student his copy. PO also informed the student of his court date-time. The marihuana grinder was placed into the Greenville Police Department property room as evidence.
Disorderly Conduct
On October 14, 2023 around 12:33 AM police was dispatched to a car accident on Howard Dr. While at the scene they located the defendant, known to police as Sterling Seiler. They determined Sterling was intoxicated and was involved in the accident. Sterling was transported from the scene by Greenville Twp Rescue Squad to Wayne Hospital. PO was advised by another PO to meet squad at Wayne Hospital to assist squad. A few blocks away from the hospital squad members advised Sterling was becoming disorderly. A few seconds later squad arrived at the hospital. PO approached the ambulance and noticed Sterling inside. Sterling was not making sense and appeared to be rambling with incoherent words. Sterling was rushed into the hospital, room 3, but was being disorderly. Sterling was kicking his legs and throwing his body all over the cot he was on. Sterling had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage around his person, bloodshot eyes, and stated he had been drinking. Sterling had to be restrained since he was kicking at hospital staff. After Sterling was restrained he continued to be belligerent and fight with staff while they were actively performing their duties. While restrained Sterling began to spit at Mina Samaan, a registered nurse with Wayne Hospital ER. Mina turned his back and PO witnessed Sterling spit at Mina, striking and landing on his back. Sterling again spat on Mina, striking him on the left arm and left shoulder. Mina wished to have Sterling charged with spitting on him. Mina filled out a statement and a victim rights waiver form. Sterling was issued a citation for disorderly conduct. This charge is enhanced to a misdemeanor of the fourth degree due to the persistence and the offense occurring in the presence of an emergency facility person engaged in the persons duties in an emergency facility.
