Greenville Police Department – Police Reports 11/23

Domestic Violence

BCI only between girlfriend, Tiffany Weherley and boyfriend, Kevin Wright. Weherley and Wright were in a verbal argument when Weherley telephoned Greenville Police Department due to the verbal argument. Wright left for the night. There were no school age children present. Weherley and Wright have a four year old daughter together.

CPO Violation

On November 11th, 2023 at approximately 12:28 PM police was dispatched to the lobby of the Greenville Police Department in reference to a CPO violation. PO made contact with Karla Reeves and her son. Karla advised PO that while she and her son were at 5/3rd bank on East Main Street, her Ex boyfriend, Eric Cook had driven down the alley behind 5/3rd bank and waved at them. Karla advised she just wanted this incident to be documented. On November 12th, 2023 at approximately 09:30 AM PO was advised by another PO to do a report on the incident. PO made contact with Karla by phone and Karla advised that she would come to the Greenville Police Department to fill out a statement form. Karla arrived at the Greenville Police Department and PO asked her to tell him about the incident again. Karla advised she and her son were at 5/3rd bank on East Main street. Karla advised she pulled out of the parking lot and proceeded down the alley towards Walnut Street. Karla advised a maroon Ford pick up truck pulled into the alley from Walnut Street. Karla advised the truck backed out of the alley and straightened his wheels and proceeded into the alley towards her vehicle. Karla stated she asked her son “Is that Eric?”. Karla stated she recognized the driver of the vehicle to be her ex boyfriend, Eric Cook. Karla advised she has a CPO against Eric. Karla stated that Eric continued traveling down the alley. Karla advised as Eric was passing them, he stared at them and waved. Karla advised she went back down the alley towards Walnut Street and left the area. PO asked Karla if she had life 360 or any other app on her phone that would have allowed Eric to know her location. Karla advised she did not and that she had no clue if he knew she was there. Karla advised she has been followed by Eric in the past while driving in Darke County on US127. PO asked Karla if she reported that incident. Karla advised no. Karla advise Eric has shown up at locations that she has been before as well. PO asked Karla if she reported those incidents. Karla advised she did not. PO advised Karla to call Law Enforcement when the incident is occurring any time she feels that Eric is following her. After speaking with Karla and her son, PO did confirm that Karla does have a CPO against Eric. The CPO is effective from 02/28/2023 t0 02/28/2024. Karla and her son are listed as protected persons in the CPO. The CPO does state that Eric is not to initiate contact with Karla or her son. The CPO also states that if Eric does accidently run into the protected persons he is to leave the area immediately. PO attempted to make contact with Eric by phone on November 12th, 2023 at approximately 10:00 AM. PO was unable to make contact with Eric but PO did leave a voicemail.

Domestic Violence

On November 12, 2023 at approximately 2:44 PM police responded to 205 Tillman Avenue reference a domestic dispute between Ashli Cunningham and Jeffrey Barrett who have three kids together and live together. PO made contact with Jeffrey. Jeffrey stated he was moving items out of the house because they were getting evicted. Jeffrey stated that Ashli did not want him there. Jeffrey stated that Ashli became upset and pushed him before leaving. Jeffrey did not have any injuries. Jeffrey gathered items and left. Ashli was gone upon police’s arrival. BCI only. No school age children present.

Wanted Person

On November 12th, 2023 at approximately 12:44 PM police arrived at 416 Eleventh Street in reference to a wanted person. Upon arrival they made contact with Steve White. PO asked Steve if Emily Newman was in the residence. Steve advised Emily was inside and invited PO inside the residence. PO made contact with Emily. Dispatch advised Emily had a Felony warrant out of Montgomery County for aggravated possession of drugs. Emily was placed in handcuffs. Emily advised she was defecating herself and needed to go to the hospital. Emily was placed in the backseat of the cruiser and was transported to Wayne Healthcare. Emily was seen and cleared by medical staff. Emily was placed in the backseat of the cruiser and was transported to the Darke County Jail and was released to Jail staff.

Domestic Violence

On 11/12/2023 at approximately 8:29 PM police responded to the area of Martin Street and Riffle Avenue in reference to a verbal domestic. While checking the area, PO located Madison Pitman and Ryan Burgan near 212 Anderson Avenue. Madison advised she and her live in boyfriend Ryan Burgan were in a verbal argument while they were out walking. Ryan packed some items and left the residence for the night. No school age children were present. BCI only

Animal Problem

On November 14th, 2023 while on patrol on Hiddeson Ave and Twelfth St PO observed a black lab and a black lab-pug mix running across the road. PO got out and attempted to get close to the two dogs but was unsuccessful. Both dogs eventually ran down the block and went towards the back of the residence of 301 Gray Ave. PO was familiar with this residence due to they had a call on November 5th, 2023 where the resident, Jenifer York, was warned for failure to control dogs that got out of the fenced in back yard. Neither dog showed aggression but PO was unable to get close to them to catch them. After several attempts police was able to get the dogs placed into the backyard with help of a neighbor. A short while later York arrived back to the residence and advised that the dogs got out of the corner of the fence where they dug up. York admitted ownership of the dogs. York failed to keep the dog restrained to the premises of the owner and PO observed them clearly off the property approximately a block away from where they lived. York was issued a warning on 11/5/23 for the dog at large. PO issued a citation to York for 955.22Cl failure to control dog a M-M. York was advised of her court date and time.

Suicide Attempt

On 11/15/23 at approximately 6:53 PM, the Greenville Police Dept. and Greenville Twp Rescue were dispatched to 5438 SR 49 Slot #39 on a suicide attempt. Dispatch advised that Linda Enicks found her 16 y/o daughter, Child Victim (CV), tying a sweatshirt to a bunkbed in an attempt to hang herself. The CV had become combative and was being restrained by Linda. Police located Linda sitting on the CV on the couch holding her down. The CV was kicking and trying to swing her arms and, on several occasions, tried to bite Linda. PO asked the CV what was going on since PO had a good rapport with her a week prior. She stated she kept hearing the voices which were telling her to kill herself. She further stated she did want to kill herself. A PO checked the CV’s room and did not see the sweatshirt. Police assisted in holding her down until Greenville Twp. Rescue arrived. She was then carried outside and placed on the cot and into 4-point restraints. Police then followed rescue, with Linda on board, to Wayne Healthcare ER for a mental evaluation. Once in the ER, the CV was taken to room #4 and police assisted in placing her on the bed and into 4-point restraints while she continued to try to kick and free her arms and tried to bite the PO. Once she was restrained, police cleared the hospital.

Drugs

On November 16, 2023, at approximately 1:25 PM a PO requested assistance on a traffic stop in the 1300 block of East Main Street. Upon police’s arrival, the PO was detaining the driver of the vehicle, Michael Dehart. Another PO approached the passenger side of the vehicle and made contact with the front seat passenger, Kelsey Lynch, and the rear seat passenger, Tamara Johnson. When PO told Lynch to exit the vehicle, she advised PO that she had an open container on the floorboard of the vehicle and she reached down to grab it. Lynch handed PO an open container of Twisted Tea alcohol that had a straw in it. PO found the alcohol container to be approximately half full of what appeared to be alcohol. Lynch reported that she had been consuming the alcohol in the vehicle. PO then told Lynch again to exit the vehicle and she reached behind her back with her left arm as if she was reaching for something. PO ordered Lynch to remove her hands and exit the vehicle while simultaneously grabbing her arm and pulling her out of the vehicle. Once out of the vehicle, PO could see that Lynch had dropped a clear plastic baggie with what appeared to be a pill inside of it on the front seat where she had been sitting and reaching. Lynch was detained and placed in the rear of a patrol vehicle.

Wanted Person/Fugitive from Justice

On November 16th, 2023, at approximately 5:47 PM police observed a subject, Damon Dickey, who PO knew to have an active Felony Warrant. PO was familiar with Damon and could confirm his identity by his physical characteristics. Damon was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk southbound in the 600 block of Wagner Avenue. PO stopped my cruiser at 627 Wagner Avenue and asked the subject to stop his bicycle. Damon did stop his bicycle and was placed into handcuffs without incident. Through LEADS/NCIC Damon was confirmed to have a Felony Warrant through the Darke County Sheriff’s Office for drug possession, no bond. Damon was arrested and searched incident to arrest. Inside his right pants pocket PO located a hypodermic syringe and a small piece of aluminum foil. Damon was mirandized and placed into the rear of the cruiser. Damon was transported to the Darke County Jail and released to staff. Damon’s bicycle was a Blue Schwinn Sierra Mountain bike, serial# TD71103687. It was taken to Hart Avenue for safe keeping. The syringe was disposed of safely and the foil contained residue and was disposed of.
