Greenville Police Department – Police Reports

Domestic

On December 3rd, 2024 at approximately 5:36 AM police was dispatched to 414 North Gray Avenue Apartment D Greenville, Ohio 45331 in reference to a domestic dispute. Dispatch advised officers Christina Cox called stating her niece Kylie McCarty called Christina saying Charles Newberry had hit her and would not allow Kylie to call 911. Kylie is in a romantic relationship with Charles and they both reside together at the above listed address. Upon officer arrival police could hear yelling coming from the rear of the residence. PO observed multiple lights on in the residence. PO made my way to the entrance of the residence and knocked on the door. PO did this multiple times announcing himself and that he needed to speak with Kylie. Kylie and Charles were refusing to answer the door. At one point during this incident PO noticed all the lights that were on upon his arrival had been turned off. PO advised Charles and Kylie if they did not open the door police would be making entry either way due to the yelling PO heard upon his arrival and the initial reason for officer presence. After several attempts, deputies from the Darke County Sherriff’ s Office arrived on scene to assist on making entry. Charles then called the police department and stated he would talk to police through the phone and ring door bell. A PO Colby advised Charles police needed to see Kylie to ensure she was okay. After spending several minutes on the phone with Charles a PO gave them both one last warning to open the door or we would be making entry into the residence. Kylie opened the door a few minutes later. She stated she was fine and did not know why Christina was calling the police. PO did not observe any physical injuries on Kylie while speaking with her. PO also spoke with Charles. Charles stated he did not do anything to Kylie and that he was unaware of why officers were at his residence. A PO explained to Charles the reasoning on why police was there and he stated he understood. Christina arrived on scene and asked if she could go to the back of the residence and try to speak with Kylie. Officer’s stood by while Christina attempted to make contact with Kylie, however Kylie refused to speak with Christina and advised she wanted Christina to leave. PO advised Christina if Kylie did not wish to speak with her PO was unable to make her do so and that if Kylie wanted her to leave then she had to leave. Kylie then called the police department and PO spoke with her again. Kylie stated she wanted Christina trespassed from the residence. PO made contact with Christina and warned her for trespassing. Christina refused to fill out a witness statement form. BCI only.

Property Damage

On December 4, 2024 at 10:44 AM police was dispatched to East Water Street and Boston Street in reference to a vandalism complaint. PO contacted the complainant, Brenda Brumbaugh. Brenda stated she and her daughter, Ashlee Brumbaugh drove the listed vehicle to this location to eat at the soup kitchen. They advised another female whom they have had issues with, Kim Osterholt was at the soup kitchen and then left. They advised when they came outside they noticed damage to the driver’s side rear fender of the vehicle they drove and did not believe it was like that when they parked. The damage was substantial to include part of the fender being broken off and missing. There were no small fragments of the vehicle on the ground suggesting someone didn’t damaged it at the scene. They advised they believed the damage was caused by Kim. PO asked what streets they traveled to get to this location. Ashlee stated they left their residence on Harmon Drive and drove through the park. She stated that they drove on Park Avenue to East Main Street and turned right onto East Main Street. She advised they then traveled East Main Street to Boston Street to where the vehicle was currently parked. PO drove the area and located the missing piece of fender in the roadway on East Main Street near Memorial Drive. PO also located small fragments the same color as the fender as well as red reflector fragments on the ground. This indicated to police that they may have been in an accident at this location. PO contacted Ashlee and advised her he found the piece of their fender. PO asked if she was involved in an accident on the drive to the soup kitchen. She advised that they were not hit by anyone nor did they hit anyone. PO collected the piece of fender and took it to Ashlee. PO advised Ashlee he would complete a property report but it did not appear anyone at the soup kitchen caused the damage. She advised she understood. Photographs of the vehicle and fender were taken and are included with this report.

Theft (not in progress)

On December 4th, 2024 at approximately 12:47 PM police was dispatched to 5438 State Route 49, Lot 3, on a report of a theft of a firearm. PO contacted the victim, Hattie Tittle. Hattie advised this morning, December 4th, 2024, she went to her bedroom and found that her small safe which contained the listed SCCY CPX2 9mm was opened and the firearm was missing. Hattie advised that she called her boyfriend, Gerald Paul, who also lives at the residence and asked if he had the firearm which she stated he did not. Hattie advised that she last saw the firearm approximately two weeks ago in the safe. PO asked Hattie if she suspected anyone of stealing the firearm, which she advised that Kimberly Osterholt had been staying at the residence and she believed that she may have taken it. PO asked Hattie how Kimberly would get into the safe which Gerald who was on scene stated that he believed Kimberly may have overheard him stating the code for it. PO asked if Kimberly was home which they stated that she was not. Hattie advised that no one has permission to have the firearm, and no one had permission to get into the safe. Hattie filled out a written statement and victims’ rights form which will be filed with this report. PO checked the areas where Kimberly normally walks in Greenville, but PO was unable to locate her. The listed firearm was entered into LEADS/NCIC as stolen. This case will need further follow-up to contact Kimberly.

Wanted Person

On December 06, 2024, at approximately 2:52 AM police arrived at 312 Victoria Drive to serve a warrant for Ian Perkins who lives at the listed address. Upon arrival police made contact with Mason Perkins who also lives at the listed address. Police asked if they could speak to Ian. Mason let them come inside where police then saw Ian on the couch and informed him he had a warrant. Dispatched confirmed Ian’s warrant which was for failure to appear for Menacing with a bond of $525. Ian was then placed under arrest and into handcuffs and then transported to the Darke County Sherriff’s Office where he was released to jail staff.
