Welfare Check

On March 29, 2025, at approximately 0955 hours myself and Sgt. Smith responded to SVG Chevrolet, 1225 Russ Road in the City of Greenville in reference to a welfare check/trespassing complaint. Prior to our arrival SVG staff advised they had asked the subject to leave which he never did. They advised he was asleep in the back seat in a blue Toyota Corolla and was not leaving and staff did not want him there. Sgt. Smith was first on scene, and I arrived shortly after and I observed the subject lying in the backseat of the vehicle. The subject later identified as Isidro Rivera-Guardado, was not responding to commands and was not opening the door. A short time later after multiple commands to open the door, Isidro finally opened the door. After he stepped out, he advised he did not speak English and there was a strong language barrier with the subject. After trying to speak to Isidro it was learned, Jeff Van, who is an employee with SVG spoke Spanish where we then asked him to help myself and Sgt Smith to translate. During our investigation Isidor advised he was waiting for his wife and son who were shopping for a bed. Isidro advised he did not know where they were or how long they would be and did not know their phone number. Isidro advised he had only been there 20 mins but staff from SVG advised he has been there since 0800 hours. Isidro had no valid driver’s license, and we advised him he could not stay there but could not drive. Isidro did not attempt to leave the parking lot. During our conversation I asked if he had used any drugs or alcohol where he stated no to drugs but stated he drank last night at a party in Union City. Sgt Smith then asked if he could search his person where he consented to through Jeff. Sgt Smith then found a white powdery substance in the Isidor’s pocket where Isidro stated it was cocaine, but it was not his and he has never used cocaine. At this time, it was determined to place Isidro under arrest for possession of a controlled substance. (2925. 11( A). Isidor was placed into handcuffs, and which were gap checked and double locked. I transported Isidro to the Darke County Jail where he was released to staff. I checked my cruiser prior and after transport with nothing being located. I placed the suspected cocaine in packaging and placed it into the property room at the Greenville Police Station for evidence. See Sgt. Smith’s supplemental for further.

Upon my arrival, I made contact with the protected person, Jeromy Johnson, and the complainant, Micah Shakro. Jeromy stated he witnessed Jaden Johnson at his old residence, 331 West Water, earlier in the day. Jeromy advised the court changed the terms of the protection order at that time but was unable to provide any paperwork stating that. I checked the copy of the protection order located at the police department, which did not reflect any changes to the protection order. Jeromy stated he did not want any charges filed against Jaden but just wanted it documented. While speaking with Jeromy, I was notified Jaden was at 401 Central Avenue and wanted to speak with me regarding the incident. I made contact with Jaden at the address on Central Avenue. Jaden stated he was in the process of moving to his new address at 401 Central Avenue, and was at his old residence on West Water to help move some items. Jaden stated the terms of the protection order were not changed at the court hearing, and that there would be a separate court date to discuss any changes to the protection order.
