Domestic Violence
On May 8, 2024 at approximately 11:13 AM police responded to 222 West Main Street in reference to a domestic violence complaint. PO made contact with the complainant/Victim, Catina Mcnutt, who stated her daughter, Nakysha Mcnutt, had come to her residence to do laundry. Catina advised while Nakysha was there, she began to argue and call Catina names. Catina asked Nakysha multiple times to leave the residence but she failed to do so. Catina stated she tried to push Nakysha towards the door when Nakysha struck Catina twice on her face with a closed fist. Catina had two visible wounds on her forehead from Nakysha striking her and also stated that her nose was hurting. Photos were taken of Catina’s injuries and will be attached to this report. Catina was given a statement form and a victim rights form to fill out that were completed and returned back to me. Greenville Rescue also responded to the scene and treated Catina for her injuries. Nakysha was placed in handcuffs and placed in the back of a cruiser and read her Miranda Warning which she stated she understood. Nakysha stated that she was in a verbal argument with her Catina, when Catina pushed her. Nakysha stated that she then punched Catina in the face, but claimed it was self defense. Nakysha was given a statement form to fill out which was completed. Nakysha had a small scratch to the corner of her mouth, and had a rash on her neck that she stated was not from this incident. Photos were taken of Nakysha. Nakysha was given her copy of a citation for domestic violence and advised of her court date. Nakysha was transported to the Darke Count Jail and incarcerated and held with no bond. Catina and Nakysha are biological Mother and daughter. The subjects do not live together but have in the past. Nakysha also does not have any prior domestic violence convictions.
Death
On May 09, 2024 at approximately 3:09 PM police was dispatched to 1170 Wayne Avenue referencing to a male subject who was unresponsive. PO spoke to Crystal Swartz who stated she came to do a welfare check on the victim, Thomas Gleason. Crystal stated she checks on the Thomas every Tuesday and Friday. Coroner Joe Vanvickle responded to the scene as well. Joe released the body to the Zechar bailey funeral home. Thomas medications were disposed of at the Greenville City Police Department.
Vehicle Theft
On May 8th, 2024, at approximately 5:08 PM police was advised of a complaint of a stolen Semi Truck and Semi Trailer. The complainant, Milos Gubic, works for ZNZ Logistics; a trucking company out of Illinois. Milos stated that ZNZ had two employees working for them driving a Semi Truck. The two subjects had stolen the Semi and had blocked all phone numbers to ZNZ Logistics. Milos stated the two employees Antione Williams and Katoya Fields, had went to St. Henry, Ohio on May 7th between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The suspects picked up a load of eggs from St. Henry and was suppose to be delivering the load to Mercersburg, PA by May 8th, 2024. Milos advised that at 7:20 AM on May 8th the GPS tracker on the Semi and Trailer was pinging at 1501 Wagner Avenue, Walmart. Milos stated that there was not a load to be picked up there but possibly the suspects were getting personal items from Walmart. Milos stated that at 7:20 AM the GPS was disabled and it could no longer track where the vehicle was. Milos stated that he needed to report the Semi and Trailer stolen. Milos provided driver license for the suspects, the pick up orders, the VIN for both vehicles and a statement form. Milos advised that no one has been able to contact Antione and Katoya, they also did not have permission to take the vehicle to anywhere else besides the destination in Pennsylvania. The Semi and Semi trailer was entered into LEADS/NCIC as stolen. PO checked the area of 1501 Wagner Avenue for the vehicle but did not locate anything. On May 9th, 2024, PO was advised by ZNZ logistics that they did get another ping for the trailer and it was still pinging at 1501 Wagner Avenue. PO went back to the listed location and did observe a trailer in the back of the lot unhitched without a license plate on it. The trailer was the one that had been reported stolen. The vehicle was removed from LEADS/NCIC and ZNZ Logistics was advised of the trailer location. ZNZ Logistics also advised they were getting a GPS location again for the Semi and it was in Tennessee. There are no charges currently being filed in this case until the investigation is completed with the location of the semi.
Wanted Person
On May 8th 2024 at approximately 10:19 PM, a known wanted subject was apprehended at 1135 Howard Drive, Greenville, Ohio 45331. Upon arrival to the listed address officers made contact with Mark Barberine; who was known to have a warrant out of Preble County. Dispatch confirmed through LEADS/NCIC that Mark had a misdemeanor warrant with a $5,000.00 bond out of Preble County for theft. Mark was placed in handcuffs. The warrant was confirmed by Preble County Sheriff’s office. PO transported Mark to Darke County Jail where he was incarcerated until he is released to Preble County.
Wanted Person
On May 9, 2024, at approximately 2:24 PM, contact was made with Kris Clark at the Greenville Police Department. It was discovered there was an active arrest order from the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for Kris in reference to a parole violation. Kris was placed under arrest then transported to the Darke County Jail where he was released to the jail staff.
Vandalism
On May 9th, 2024 at approximately 4:03 PM police was dispatched to 225 Birt St in reference to a vehicle vandalism. PO spoke with Garrison Perkins in reference to his truck being vandalized. Garrison stated the last time he saw his truck with no scratches was 04-30-24 around 4:00 PM. Garrison said on the above date and time he walked out to his truck and noticed it had scratches on both sides, and on the front and back of the truck. Garrison said it was parked in front of his house on the street at 416 Wayne Ave when the vandalism took place. Garrison said he has no cameras and PO didn’t observe the neighbors to have any, he did say that he has recently had some issues with a Joseph Sullivan from Piqua area but has no evidence it was him. Photos were taken of the damages and documented. PO has attempted to make contact with Garrison again via call for multiple days, PO also spoke with his mother at the Wayne address to attempt to have Garrison complete the victims rights form and his statement. PO still hasn’t heard back from him, the paperwork was left with his mother at the 416 Wayne address.
Wanted Person
On May 10, 2024 at approximately 3:17 PM police apprehended a wanted person out of the Darke County Sherriff’ s Office. PO was in his patrol car traveling West on Russ Road where he observed a White Silverado truck bearing Ohio registration JIY3861. As PO checked the registration through LEADS/NCIC, PO learned that the Richard Sigler, the registered owner, of the vehicle had a warrant out of the Darke County Sherriff’s Office for Failure to appear with an original charge of DUI with a bond amount of $2,525. PO then conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle where he observed the driver as a female and identified as Kandy Vennard. The passenger stated he was the registered owner of the truck. PO then advised him that he had a warrant and to step out of the truck. He confirmed his name and date of birth. Dispatch confirmed the warrant. PO then placed Richard in handcuffs and conducted a search incident to arrest with nothing being located. Richard was placed into the patrol car where PO transported Richard to the Darke County Jail where he was released to staff.
Traffic Stop
On May 10, 2024 at approximately 3:10 PM police observed a blue Ford bearing Ohio registration JCF4813 traveling southbound on Sweitzer Street with a male driver. After checking the registration through LEADS/NCIC, PO learned that the vehicle was registered to Katie Ann Jay. Through further investigation, PO discovered that this vehicle had previously been stopped on 08/13/2023 due to Katie’s boyfriend, Eric Everado Lamas-Funk, driving the vehicle without a valid drivers license. PO initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on Sweitzer Street near Eidson Road in reference to Eric driving the vehicle without a valid drivers license. After confirming his identity, dispatch advised Eric was not a valid driver. Katie, who was sitting in the passenger seat and holds a valid drivers license, had previously received a verbal warning for wrongful entrustment on 08/13/2023. Due to this being Eric’s second no license offense while driving this vehicle, and Katie having been previously warned for wrongful entrustment, the vehicle was towed by Dillman’s to their impound lot.
