Vehicle Theft

On June 7, 2024 at approximately 6:10 AM police was dispatched to 416 West Main Street in reference to a theft of a vehicle. PO spoke with complainant/victim; Christopher Campbell who stated that the listed white 2013 Ram 1500 with Ohio license plate JSJ1060 belonging to him had been stolen. Christopher stated the last time he had seen the vehicle had been on June 6, 2024 at approximately 11:30 PM while parked in front of his residence. Christopher stated that he was unsure if the vehicle was locked or not but he normally kept it locked when not in use. When asked, Christopher stated that he did not keep the key within the vehicle when not in use. Christopher stated he had a loan on the vehicle through Capital One but was not behind on any payments for the vehicle. Christopher stated he had left a handgun in the stolen vehicle along with two magazines for it. Christopher stated he had also left his wallet in the stolen vehicle. The contents of the wallet are reported to have included multiple credit cards, photo ID, $100 in cash, and a social security card. Christopher stated there had also been sporting equipment within the stolen vehicle with an estimated value of $700. Upon further investigation it was found the stolen handgun was a black Smith & Wesson Shield Plus chambered in 9mm. The handgun was entered as stolen into LEADS/NCIC by dispatch. When asked, Christopher stated the stolen vehicle had approximately 3/4 tank of fuel when it had been parked. Christopher stated the insurance for the vehicle had ended on April 20, 2024 but it had last been insured through The General Insurance Company by Policy #92-OH-5010763. Christopher stated he had received fraud alerts for the credit cards that had been in his wallet. The first attempt was on a Capital One card to GameStop for the amount of $913.73 at approximately 5:55 AM. The next was on a Discover card to Boost Mobile for the amount of $1330.59 at approximately 5:56 AM. Christopher also stated there had been an attempt on a business account card but he was unsure of the details and was not able to access the information at the time. Christopher reported the credit cards stolen to the credit companies to ensure that no further attempts were possible. It was also found later that there had been several additional attempts of fraudulent charges on the credit cards. Christopher was advised to contact the credit card companies to ensure that no charges had gone through and to get a list of the fraudulent charges from the credit companies that will be added to this report if or when they are received. Pictures were taken of the scene where the vehicle had been parked which will be attached to this report. Christopher completed a witness statement and victim rights form that will be attached to this report. The area surrounding the residence and location where the vehicle was taken from was checked for cameras. Contact was made with a neighbor who had a camera near the scene but it was later found the camera did not capture any footage of the theft. Contact was made with an additional neighbor and it was found the camera did not capture the theft but it showed the stolen vehicle had been taken between approximately 12:58AM and 1:03AM on 6/7/23. A short time after leaving the residence PO was notified by dispatch the stolen vehicle had been located near the intersection of Elm Street and West 3rd Street. Upon arriving to the area PO observed the listed Ram parked westbound in front of 304 West 3rd Street. The license plate was checked through LEADS/NCIC and it was verified to be the stolen vehicle. The vehicle was unoccupied and the area surrounding the vehicle was checked for evidence with none being able to be located. Pictures were taken of the exterior and interior of the listed Ram which will be attached to this report. Upon searching the vehicle a disposable Geek Bar Pulse vape was located on the driver seat that did not belong to Christopher and is believed to have been left by the suspect. The disposable vape was collected and placed into property as evidence. Additionally while searching the vehicle an unopened 3 pack of Trojan ENZ condoms were located under the driver seat of the vehicle that did not belong to Christopher and are believed to also have been left by the suspect. The box of condoms were collected and placed into property as evidence. While searching the vehicle Christopher’s Social Security card and sporting equipment were found to have been left in the vehicle. Christopher was advised to inventory the vehicle and provide a list of all items that had been taken from the vehicle which will be attached to this report if and/or when it is received. Christopher was also advised to contact the Credit Bureaus to place a freeze on his credit due to the suspect having had access to his Social Security card. A key for the stolen vehicle was located on the center console of the vehicle that Christopher confirmed belonged to the vehicle. While looking through the vehicle a Sgt. observed a finger print on the shifter of the vehicle that could possibly have been left by the suspect. A PO responded to the scene in order to collect latent prints from the vehicle. The surrounding area was checked for cameras and a residence was located nearby that had cameras that were angled where the stolen vehicle had been left. Contact was made with a resident and they stated that they would review the camera footage to see if it had captured the suspect of the theft.

Trespassing

On June 06, 2024, at approximately 11:26 AM police responded to 609 Walnut Street Apartment 24 in reference to a trespassing complaint. PO observed Michael Falknor at the listed address who PO had prior knowledge that has been previously trespassed from the listed address. Upon speaking with Michael he stated that he was sorry and he was just grabbing a pack of cigarettes and that he would leave. Michael stated that he was aware that he was trespassed from the listed address and that he would leave. PO then spoke to Cheri Leonard who is the owner of the listed address who had stated Michael has been there multiple times since he has been trespassed and wanted him charged. Cheri filled out a written statement as well as a victims rights form. A copy of the previous warning for trespass will be attached to this report as well. A citation was issued to Michael for Criminal Trespass.

Wanted Person

On June 8, 2024 at approximately 9:50 AM a PO observed William Watts Jr. riding a bicycle near the intersection of East Fourth Street and North Ohio Street. PO checked William through LEADS/NCIC and learned that he has an active warrant through St. Mary’s PD. PO made contact with William at 899 North Ohio Street where he was detained into handcuffs. Dispatch later advised that the warrant was not a good pick up. While at the residence PO also made contact with Austin Swartz. PO checked Austin through LEADS/NCIC and learned that he also has a warrant through Huber Heights PD for failure to appear on theft and obstruction charges. Dispatch confirmed Austin’s warrant and he was placed under arrest into handcuffs. A P.0. transported Austin to the intersection of State Route 49 and State Route 40 where he was released to Butler Township PD. William was released from the scene.

Domestic Violence

On June 10th, 2024 at approximately 6:55 PM police was dispatched to 429 Martin St on a domestic dispute. PO spoke with the complaint and victim, Abby Sullenbarger, who was out of of the residence by her vehicle. Abby stated the father of her children, Matthew Sullenbarger, and her had been into a domestic dispute. Abby said Matthew started in by yelling at her at their children’s tee ball game. Once the game was over Abby said she tried to get home quickly to retrieve items for her and the kids to leave some place else for the night. Abby then stated Matthew showed up and continued the yelling and screaming, Abby had pillows and other belongings in her arms when she was then pushed a couple times by Matthew. Abby said she was in fear of what Matt might do to her and wanted away from him, when she told Matt she was going to call the police Matt then got into a four door white car and drove off. PO was unable to see any bruising or marks on Abby, she stated she didn’t want any charges on Matthew and wanted him to leave her alone. Abby stated next, that this has been an on going issue between her and Matt, he will get intoxicated and begin to yell and scream at her and she will stay away from him for sometime but her and Matt will eventually begin to live together again. While speaking with Abby, Matthew called her multiple times, PO attempted to speak with him but he hung up the phone. Officers checked the area for the vehicle and Matt but was unable to locate him. Matt not does have a valid driver license and Abby stated he was very intoxicated. Abby did not know any place he may go or any friends that he has, she said if he goes out it’s usually late at night and he doesn’t let her know where he’s going. The two are beginning the process of divorce. PO advised Abby to contact the courts in the morning to attempt to get some form of protection order, she was also advised to block Matt from any form of contact and if he shows up around her again to call right away. A friend of Abby’s came to pick up the children, Abby was able to gather items from the house and went to stay with her as well. Two school aged children present but didn’t witness anything. Agency Assist

On 6-12-24 police responded to 1480 Sweitzer St, Bolyards Heating & Cooling, assisting EMS on a person with a severe laceration to his arm. Police located Charlie Evers and Jennifer Cain in a back storage room. Charlie was sitting in a chair with a makeshift tourniquet on his right arm. Jennifer was applying pressure to the arm. Charlie stated he was working in the business’ shop cutting a piece of sheet metal. During that process Charlie was cut. The wound was approximately 2-3 inches long, 2 inches wide and about an 1-2 inches deep. The makeshift tourniquet was made by Jennifer with Charlie directing her what to do. A plastic trash bag and a small garden trowel were used. This was done while another employee was calling 911. Upon EMS arrival, another tourniquet was applied at 9:13 AM and the makeshift tourniquet was removed. Charlie was transported by EMS then flown by Careflight to Miami Valley hospital. An employee made contact with Charlie’s wife about the incident. Photos were taken of the scene and stored in the case file. This report was taken as an industrial accident. No foul play was observed
