Junk Vehicle

On 7-14-23 police made contact with Jessica Gahret, property owner of 1019 E. 4th St. Police observed the three listed vehicles on the property. All three vehicles are not in operational order and had grass grown around them. Jessica was advised of the 15 day junk vehicle notice. She stated she will try to have them all off the property by then. She was advised to contact this officer if more time is needed. Police will check the property on 7-31-23. The complaint also stated about the pool and trash. Police did not observe any trash thrown about. Police did look at the pool. It was very dirty water but the owner showed that the pump was running. She stated they are going to be cleaning it soon. She stated two years ago she got a permit to put the pool up from the city. No violations with that. SSD Delk and zoning were emailed.

Vandalism

On July 14, 2023 at approximately 6:05PM police responded to 409 Anderson Avenue reference a vandalism complaint. Police made contact with the complainant, Teresa Wilson. Teresa advised that on today’s date she came outside and noticed that the back windshield on her Yellow Chevy was busted out. Teresa stated that the last time that she saw the vehicle without the damage was on 7/12/23. Teresa stated that she does not know exactly when it happened, and there was nothing missing from the vehicle. Teresa filled out a written statement and a victims rights form. Police observed the back window on the vehicle to be busted out and the glass sitting in the back seat. Police did not observe any rocks or tools that could have been used to break the window inside the car, and nothing else looked disturbed in the vehicle. Police was able to speak to several of Teresa’s neighbors, who all advised that they did not hear or see anything related to this incident. There are also no cameras in the area. Teresa was given a copy of this report number and advised to call if anything turns up missing. There are no leads or suspects in this case. Nothing Further.

Drugs

On July 15th, 2023 at approximately 11:43 AM police observed the listed 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo traveling east bound on East Main Street. Officer identified the driver of the vehicle as Scott Wilt. Police checked LEADS/NCIC and learned that Scott’s driving privileges are under a license forfeiture suspension from 04/04/2023 to indefinite. Police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with Scott. While the officer was speaking with Scott, he could smell an odor of Marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle. Police could see marijuana paraphernalia on the passenger side floorboard of the vehicle. The officer asked Scott if there was any illegal drugs in his vehicle. Scott advised that he had Marijuana in his vehicle. Police advised Scott to exit his vehicle before conducting a search of the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, police located five plastic bags containing green leafy substances, a metal grinder, a vape pen containing THC oil, and a glass jar containing a green leafy substance inside. Dispatch checked LEADS/NCIC and advised that the license plate on the vehicle is registered to a 1999 black Chevrolet SUV. Scott’s vehicle was towed by Hotrods Towing. Scott was issued a citation for Fictitious License plates and Driving Under Suspension. Scott was advised of his court date. Scott has two prior convictions of driving under suspension within the last three years, on 04/18/2023 and 11/04/2020. The defendant has a prior conviction of fictitious license plates on 04/18/2023. The Marijuana and the marijuana paraphernalia was placed into property for destruction. Police took photographs of Scott’s vehicle.

Menacing

On July 15th, 2023 at approximately 7:08 PM police was dispatched to the 122 West Main Street; Greenville Police Department in reference to an aggravated menacing incident. Police made contact with Kaleb Hittle who stated while he was shopping at 405 Wagner Ave; O’Reilly Auto parts his ex-girlfriend, Chelsea Randal, arrived in the parking lot of 401 Wagner Avenue. Kaleb Stated Chelsea exited her vehicle and began to yell at him and his friend, Logan Hofacker. Kaleb stated Chelsea was pointing a pink hand gun at them while shouting at them. Kaleb then entered his vehicle and drove to the Greenville Police Department to report the incident. Kaleb was able to provide police with a video recording off of Chelsea’s Snap chat. In the video Chelsea is seen pointing a pink handgun in the direction of Kaleb Hittle and Logan Hofacker. Chelsea Is heard stating that she is “strappe • and “not to fuck with me” in the video. Kaleb and logan both expressed to police that they felt their lives were threatened. Kaleb and logan both completed statements. Kaleb also completed a victims rights form. At approximately 7:50 PM police spoke to Chelsea at the Greenville Police Department. Chelsea admitted to pointing the handgun at Kaleb and recording the incident on her Snap Chat. Chelsea was issued a citation for aggravated menacing ORC 2903.2l(A) and notified of her court date. The pink handgun was recovered from 527 Washington Avenue and placed in the Greenville Police Department property room for safe keeping.

Domestic Violence

On July 16, 2023 at approximately 4:56 AM police responded to 326 N Main St in reference to a complaint of domestic violence. Police spoke to Isaiah Curtis of this residence. Isaiah advised he resides at this residence with his sister, Eva Curtis. Eva and Isaiah had gotten into an argument and Eva was intoxicated. Isaiah advised the argument started when he came home from fishing, and he could not get inside the residence. He stated Eva had changed the locks to keep him out. Isaiah stated that Eva then struck him with an open hand in the upper left arm. Isaiah had a visible red mark on his upper left arm from Eva striking him. Isaiah stated Eva then chased him down the street and ripped his jeans. Eva and Isaiah are brother and sister and reside together at 326 N Main St, Greenville, OH. Isaiah also stated that Eva began kicking and hitting his car. Isaiah observed that the windshield was shattered to his vehicle and he advised it was not shattered prior to this incident. Isaiah observed Eva striking his vehicle with the open palm of her hand. This officer observed dried blood on Eva’s palm. Another officer arrived on scene and spoke to Eva. Eva would not advise what happened, all she stated was she wanted Isaiah out of the house. Isaiah completed a witness form and victim’s right form. Photographs were taken of Isaiah’s injuries and Isaiah’s vehicle damage and are included in this report. Eva was arrested for Domestic Violence and Criminal Damaging. Eva was transported to DCSO jail with no bond.

Burglary

On 07-17-2023 at approximately 8:34 AM police was dispatched to 888 Russ Road (Wayne Crossing Apartments) in reference to a complaint of a burglary not in progress. Police made contact with the witness/complainant, Property Manager Teresa Driver. Teresa advised that over the weekend someone had broken into the community apartment’s laundry room building that is attached to the Community Center and the front office of the listed apartment complex. Police was able to go to the west side of the building, where the laundry is located, and observed that the door to the laundry room had been forcibly pulled open and the electronic lock and door frame had significant damage to it that could not have been done by natural circumstances. Teresa advised that she was currently looking at video footage of the weekend to get an identification of the subject (s) that had damaged the door. It did not appear that any of the coin operated washing machines inside the laundry room building had been tampered with in any way. Police was able to take photos of the damage and also the inside of the laundry room. Teresa was given and completed a witness statement form that was placed into records at Greenville PD. Teresa was also advised of her victim’s rights and given a victim’s rights card in reference to the incident. After further investigation and with the assistance of surveillance video from inside the laundry room it was found that the suspects of this case were 4 juveniles, age 7 to 13. The parents of the offender’s were contacted and able to come to the community center of the listed apartment complex with the juvenile suspects. After speaking with Teresa further on the matter it was advised by her that due to the age of the suspects she did not want to pursue charges. Both parties agreed to civilly resolve the matter in reference to the restitution for the damaged door/lock. There will be nothing further in this case.

Vandalism

On July 17, 2023 at approximately 11:22 AM police was dispatched to 923 Harrison Avenue in reference to Criminal Damaging to a vehicle. Police spoke with the complainant/victim; Christopher Rhoades who resides at the listed residence. Christopher stated that his listed red 2011 GMC Sierra had been criminally damaged while parked behind his residence. Christopher stated that he had parked the listed truck behind his residence at an undetermined time on July 15, 2023. When Christopher went to drive his truck the morning of July 16, 2023 he found that his truck showed that it was empty of fuel. Christopher remembered from the previous day when he parked his truck that it had approximately 7/8 tank of fuel remaining. Christopher went to a fuel station where he attempted to fill the truck with fuel and realized that his truck was leaking fuel as he was adding it. Christopher took his truck to 1270 Sweitzer Street; Hittle GMC where they found that his vehicle had a hole drilled through its fuel tank. Christopher denied having any suspicions of who might have damaged his vehicle. There were no cameras in the area surrounding where the vehicle was parked. Police observed what appeared to be a large dried puddle of fuel where the truck had been parked behind the residence. Pictures were taken of the area where the truck was parked and will be added to the report. Pictures were taken of the listed truck and the damage to the vehicle and will be added to the report. Christopher was given a witness statement and victim rights form that will be scanned in and added to the report. Christopher was given the report number and advised to contact his insurance provider. At this time there is no further follow up possible.

Wanted Person/Fugitive from Justice

On July 18th, 2023, at approximately 1:52 PM police observed the listed vehicle traveling eastbound on East Main Street near Wagner Avenue. Police ran the listed vehicle’s registration through LEADS/NCIC and found that the registered owner, Lachrica Patrick, had an active warrant for her arrest through the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for a probation violation drug charge with no bond. Police also ran the listed vehicle’s registration through LEADS/NCIC through GPD dispatch who advised that the warrant was a good pick up. Police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the CVS parking lot, 1009 East Main Street. A female subject exited from the driver’s seat of the vehicle and police made contact with her. The female identified herself as Lachrica Patrick and gave her date of birth. Patrick’s warrant was confirmed and she was placed under arrest for her warrant and read her Miranda rights. Patrick was searched incident to arrest and no contraband was found. Patrick was transported to the Darke County Jail where she was incarcerated until Montgomery County could pick her up.

Domestic Violence

On July 18th, 2023 at approximately 1:49 PM police was dispatched to the Greenville Police Department in reference to a possible Domestic Violence not in progress. Police made contact with Dennis Riddle who stated his son, Mathew Riddle, had scratched his arm during an altercation they had just been in at their residence of 327 West Water St. Dennis stated Mathew was completing unemployment paperwork inside the residence when he became angry and broke Dennis’s cellular phone by snapping it in half with his hands. Dennis stated Mathew then started to break things around the house including a Television. Dennis stated after Mathew got angry, he left the residence to go and buy a new TV. Dennis stated when Mathew returned he had calmed down. Dennis stated he was trying to put a new SIM card in his back up phone because Mathew had broken his other phone. Dennis stated Mathew attempted to help him replace the SIM card but failed to place the SIM card back in the phone properly. Dennis stated Mathew became angry again and tried to break another cellular phone belonging to Dennis. Dennis stated that he yelled at Mathew and advised him not to break his phone. Dennis stated that Mathew grabbed him by the arms. Dennis stated that he also grabbed Mathew’s arms and they became locked together. Dennis stated that he pushed Mathew off of him which caused Mathew to hit the wall behind him. Dennis stated after Mathew regained his balance, he started walking towards him. Dennis advised Mathew to stop and stated “You don’t want to do this”. Dennis stated Matthew pushed him down on a chair. Dennis stated Mathew told him that he was going to burn his house down. Dennis stated Mathew told him that he was going to burn him with kerosene. Dennis stated that he did not believe that Mathew would burn him with kerosene because they do not have any kerosene at the residence. After threatening Dennis, Mathew stated he was going to his room to play video games and that he wanted to be left alone. Dennis showed police his forearm and police observed a fresh scratch mark. Dennis stated Mathew has made suicidal statements in the past. Dennis stated he did not want Mathew to go to jail because he would not receive the help that he needed. Dennis stated Mathew has multiple personality disorders and schizophrenia. Dennis stated one minute Mathew is very nice and the next minute Mathew states that he does not feel like himself and becomes angry. Dennis stated he did not believe that Mathew intended to hurt him during the altercation but wanted to report the incident so that Mathew could get help. Dennis filled out a statement. Dennis stated only Mathew and himself live at the residence. Dennis, together with police officers went to Dennis and Mathew’s residence. Mathew was in the living room and was on the phone with a crisis hotline while crying. Police advised Mathew that they were at the residence due to the incident that occurred earlier. Police advised Mathew that he was going to be emergency admitted to the hospital to be evaluated due to all of the circumstances. Mathew stated he was recently prescribed medication for his mental health, but he refuses to take any of it because it causes him to see shadows and causes his body to hurt. Mathew voluntarily walked to the cruiser and was transported to Wayne Healthcare. Police learned that Mathew was previously pink-slipped on April 18, 2022 and July 24, 2022 due to Wayne Healthcare determining he needed mental health treatment, and for him making homicidal threats to others. On July 13, 2023 officers made contact with Mathew after Dennis stated that Mathew threatened to commit suicide using a razor blade. Due to the circumstances, Mathew’s mental health history, Mathew was pink-slipped while at Wayne Healthcare for being a risk of harm to others and himself by the physical altercation with Dennis, breaking things at the residence and threatening to burn the house.
