Domestic

On August 11th, 2024 at approximately 1:31 AM police was dispatched to 418 E Fourth St in reference to a domestic dispute. BCI only between Leslie Garland and Dakoda Jackson. Dakoda and Leslie are currently in a romantic relationship together and share a child together. Leslie stated that Dakoda and her were in a verbal argument about a situation that took place at a bar. Leslie stated that once at home Dakoda began to throw and break things around the house and scream at her. Upon officer arrival police was able to see the back door to the house was broken and multiple items had been thrown into the back yard. PO observed Leslie to be visibly scared and in fear, Leslie said Dakoda never made any threats or hit her. Leslie was able to contact her sister to stay with her for the night. Two children were present as well.

Disorderly

On August 11th, 2024 at approximately 2:59 AM police was dispatched to 513 Ash St in reference to a male being disorderly. Leslie Garland called stating Dakoda Jackson was beating the front door attempting to get in. This incident is related to a domestic dispute where Leslie and her two children left and went to this address to be away from Dakoda. Leslie and Sarah Garland are sisters, Leslie contacted Sarah during the previous call listed and was given permission to stay at the 513 Ash address. Around the above date and approximate time Dakoda discovered where Leslie had gone and walked to the address and started banging on the front door attempting to speak with Leslie. Prior to officer arrival Dakoda had taken off, officers were unable to locate the subject. Homeowner Sarah Garland was able to complete a victim’s rights form and statement for disorderly conduct. Sarah states that she and her family had been woken up around 2:50 AM to Dakoda banging on the windows and doors yelling and causing a disturbance. Sarah said she was able to look out the window and see Dakoda looking at her. Ben Kuck who also resides at this address was able to complete a statement stating he was also woken up due to the banging. Leslie Garland was also able to email PO text messages Dakoda had sent her around the time of the 911 call. Dakoda said “either answer your phone or I’ll start banging on shit.” Dakoda then texted her “Leslie I will wake everyone in this fucking house up, you know I will. ” Officers attempted to contact Dakoda at his residence but were unable to do so. Dakoda will be issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct and trespassed from 513 Ash St when located. On August 12th, 2024 at approximately 7:25 AM PO made contact with the Dakoda, he was issued a copy of his citation and advised of his court date.

Suicide attempt

On August 11, 2024 at 9:15 AM police was dispatched to 200 Lease Ave. (Kroger) reference to a male found in a vehicle not responsive. Upon arrival in the Kroger parking lot GPD units found, Beverly Baker and Richard Baker. They were inside the listed vehicle attempting to wake up Robert C. Baker. Robert was unconscious when PO arrived. Robert went in and out of consciousness several times prior to being transported to Wayne ER. It was learned that Robert was served paperwork for a CPO from his wife on 8-9-24. Beverly stated that Robert had told her that he was going to kill himself by shooting himself. Robert also stated to her that he tried to shoot himself but could not pull the trigger. A firearm was located unloaded in the backseat area of the pickup truck. An empty bottle of NyQuil and a bottle of over the counter pain pills were located near Robert inside the truck. During the times that Robert was awake he admitted to consuming the NyQuil and pills. He could not say how many pills he ingested. Several handwritten notes were found with Robert. “Give my wallet to Brianna”, Brianna is Robert’s sister and “I video it so Tam can see how bad this was”. Photo copies of the notes were placed into the case file. Robert Baker was transported to Wayne ER. PO arrived at Wayne and spoke with his doctor. PO provided copies of the notes left by Robert and filed an Application for Emergency Admission form (Pink Slip). The firearm was taken for safekeeping at this time. Beverly was advised of this. The BOLO from DCSO from 8-10-24 for Robert Baker was cancelled as he was located.

Suicidal Threat

On August 11, 2024 at 9:02 PM police was dispatched to 5436 State Route 49, Stardust Motel room 118 on a welfare check of a suicidal male. Dispatch advised they received several calls about Jake Angles making Facebook posts about overdosing and that someone needs to contact his wife. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with Jake. Jake denied any suicidal ideations and stated that he took one Ambien, which is prescribed to him and that he was going to sleep. PO contacted the complainant who was able to provide me screenshots of the fakebook posts, which illuded to Jake committing suicide. During the investigation PO observed a hand written note stuck into a wooden table with a box cutter style knife inside Jake’s room. The note stated to call his wife, that he loves her and his kids and that he is sorry. Jake was transported to Wayne ER where PO completed a Application for Emergency admission (pink slip). A copy of the Facebook post, the letter and the pink slip will be included with this report.

Suicidal Threat

On August 11, 2024 at approximately 9:35 PM police responded to the area of 800 Sweitzer Street, the Darke County Fairgrounds in reference to a male making suicidal threats with a handgun. Prior to PO’s arrival, dispatch advised that the male, Alan Lippincot had sent concerning suicidal messages to multiple friends. The complainant, Brennen Siefring advised he was unsure of Alan’s location but that he was on foot walking near his home. While enroute to this area, dispatch received another call stating Alan had sent multiple friends a picture of himself with a handgun pressed against his head. The complainant was able to check Alan’s location through Snapchat and advised he was somewhere around the fairgrounds. PO located Alan sitting at a picnic table close to the main entrance. As PO approached, Alan seemed to be visibly upset. PO told Alan that a friend had called and was concerned for his safety in reference to the handgun. PO asked Alan if he had the gun on him, which he stated that he did, and it was in his waistband. PO instructed Alan to stand up and keep his hands away from his waistband and to not reach for the weapon. Alan lifted his shirt, revealing the weapon, and the handgun was removed from his person without incident. Once the firearm was safely secured into the cruiser, PO was able to speak with Alan. Alan stated that he had sent a Snapchat video to the complainant, and two other friends of him holding the Taurus TX. 22 handgun to his head and made suicidal threats to them. Alan stated that he “does not know what to do and I don’t want to continue doing this.” When questioned further about this comment, Alan stated he did not want to kill himself, but he can’t find anyone that cares. Alan stated he has a lot going on in his personal life including the death of his brother. Alan stated that he has been having suicidal thoughts that come and go and that tonight they became worse. Alan voluntarily agreed to allow PO to transport him to Wayne Hospital so he could receive mental health assistance. Alan was searched prior to transport with nothing located. While at Wayne Hospital, a pink-slip was completed for Alan in reference to his safety. Alan was then placed into the care of nursing staff. Due to the nature of this incident, Alan’s firearm was removed from his person and will be placed into property. Dispatch ran this firearm through LEADS/NCIC, which showed no previous involvements. Upon speaking with the complainants, Brennen Seifring, Lillian Schwer and Alan’s ex-girlfriend Brookyln Miras, they all advised they had been sent the video and had received varying suicidal comments from Alan. Brooklyn also advised Alan had made threats against her the previous night in reference to ending the relationship. Brookyln advised she did not want charges at this time. All three subjects filled out written statements that will be attached to this report. A copy of the pink-slip, photos of the firearm and body cam footage will also be attached to this report.
