Domestic Violence
On September 4, 2023 at 10:47AM police responded to 201 Green Street on a reported domestic disturbance. Police made contact with Stephanie Dotson who advised she had been in a verbal argument with her husband, identified as Robert Dotson, who became upset and left the residence prior to police’s arrival. Police was able to make contact with Robert over the phone who stated he and Stephanie were involved in a verbal argument before he left to stay with a friend. There were no school age children present. BCI only.
Domestic Violence
On September 4, 2023 at approximately 3:28PM police was dispatched to 899 North Ohio Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon police’s arrival and through investigation it was found that there had been an argument between blood brothers, Austin Schwartz and William Watts Jr. Schwartz was gone upon officer’s arrival. It was found that the brothers were upset in reference to one believing the other was a “snitch”. There were no reported or visible injuries. Watts Jr. advised that he was gathering his belongings and going back to his residence in Portsmith, Ohio. No school aged children present.
Welfare Check
On September 4, 2023 at approximately 7:17 PM policeresponded to the 1300 block of Sweitzer Street to perform a welfare check on Billy Adkins, who was last seen driving a grey Chrysler 200 this area. Upon police’s arrival and after driving around the area for approximately 10-15 minutes, police was unable to locate him. Police then made contact with the complainant, Hayley Schmidt. Hayley agreed to meet me at the Greenville Police Department. Hayley stated that she and Billy are currently in a dating relationship and reside together at 221 Chestnut Street in Greenville. Hayley stated that they were involved in an argument today at the listed address and she told him that she wanted to breakup. Hayley stated that Billy became upset and stated that he was going to go crash his car and hopefully kill himself. Hayley stated that Billy then left the residence in his Grey Chrysler 200 (JGT9922). Hayley stated that Billy was wearing a grey work shirt and black basketball shorts. Billy does not have any History of self harm, and Hayley said this is not something that has ever happened in the past. Hayley stated that Billy also turned off his Life360 app so she could no longer see where he was at. Hayley stated that Billy works at BHI Concrete, and is supposed to be at work tomorrow morning. Hayley stated that he does not have many friends and his family lives in Georgia. Hayley stated that she did not know where he might be going Hayley filled out a written statement. Police also attempted to call Billy’s phone multiple times and left a voicemail. Due to the statements that Billy made, dispatch began pinging Billy’s cellphone. Billy’s phone pinged in the area of 7849 Hollansburg-Samson Road, and was traveling north. A BOL was sent out to surrounding Counties to stop and check Billy’s welfare if he is located. At approximately 10PM Hayley called back and advised Billy returned home. Police responded to 221 Chestnut Street to do a welfare check. Billy stated that he was ok and was just trying to blow off steam. Billy also denied having any suicidal thoughts. The BOL was canceled. Nothing further.
Traffic Stop
On September 4th 2023 at 10:06PM, police observed a male subject riding a bicycle in the roadway with no lights on in the 400 block of Wagner Avenue. Police conducted the traffic stop near 404 Wagner Avenue advising the male subject the reason for the stop. The male subject stated that he was unaware of the law and would ride on the sidewalk. When asking the male subject to identify himself he refused to give his name, asking if he can plead the fifth. He was informed due to him violating a traffic law he is required to identify himself. Another PO later arrived on scene, informing the male subject of why he is required to identify himself. The male subject again refused to identify himself asking if he can plead the fifth two more times. Police informed the male subject that he was obstructing justice, the male subject refused again. The male subject was detained and placed in handcuffs. After being placed in handcuffs the male subject then identified himself as Josiah Peeples. Dispatch then checked Josiah through LEADS/NCIC confirming his identity. Josiah was then released from the handcuffs and warned for lights on a bicycle.
Domestic Violence
On September 5, 2023 at approximately 1:35AM, police was dispatched to the parking lot of Fram, 851 Jackson Street Greenville, Ohio in reference to a possible domestic violence incident. Employees of Fram contacted the Greenville Police Department to report a male subject had chased a female subject from the area of South Park to the Fram parking lot. Police observed Angel Dye and Jalen Macabenta standing in the parking lot. While speaking with Dye and Macabenta, police found Dye and Macabenta currently reside together at 435 East Main Street, Greenville, Ohio; are engaged to be married and they have a child together. Dye and Macabenta stated they were walking in the area of South Park when they began to have a verbal argument. During the verbal argument, Dye began to run away from Macabenta, towards Fram with Macabenta chasing Dye. Dye would not specifically state the reason for the verbal argument but did state she ran as she wanted a break from Macabenta. Macabenta stated Dye was visiting her mother at 511 Harrison Avenue, Greenville, Ohio and when Dye failed to return home by 1AM, Macabenta decided to go to Dye’s location. Other than Dye not returning home, Macabenta did not disclose any reasons for the verbal argument. Dye and Macabenta did not have any visible injuries and both subjects stated the verbal argument did not escalate to physical violence. Dye and Macabenta were released from scene and picked up by Dye’s mother.
Welfare Check/DUI
On September 6th, 2023 at approximately 7:26PM police was dispatched to 1520 Wagner Avenue in reference to a welfare check on a subject not acting right. The caller advised that the subject was in a Maroon SUV in the parking lot of the listed address. Police observed a Maroon SUV parked in the parking lot bearing Ohio registration GJL6157. The vehicle was parked straddling two parking spaces. The vehicle’s passenger side wheels were completely over the white line that marked the next parking space. The PO made contact with Venessa Ferguson. Venessa was in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Police advised Venessa that police had received a call in reference to her not acting right in Great Clips. Venessa did not respond to the PO. The PO asked Venessa if she was okay. Venessa stated she was okay. Venessa seemed disoriented and was slow to answer the PO’s questions. Venessa had her purse in her lap and was fumbling the contents of the purse. The PO asked Venessa what she was looking for. Venessa stated she was looking for her keys, which the PO did observe in her purse. The PO observed that Venessa’s eyes were glossy. The PO asked Venessa is she had taken any medications. Venessa stated she took three of her nerve medications, later determined to be Gabapentin. Venessa was slurring her words. The PO asked Venessa to exit her vehicle. Venessa walked over to the front of the cruiser. Venessa began to stumble and have trouble standing up. The PO could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath. The PO asked Venessa if she had been drinking. Venessa stated that she had not been drinking. The PO asked Venessa if she had the bottle for her medication in her car. Venessa stated that she did have the bottle in her vehicle. The PO asked Venessa to get the bottle from her vehicle. The PO followed Venessa back to her vehicle. When they arrived at her vehicle, the PO observed a Busch Light can in the console. The can had condensation around the outside and there was beer on the lip of the can. The can was approximately 3/4 full. Venessa then showed the PO the bottle of her medication. The medication advised to take three pills a day. The PO asked Venessa when she had drank the beer in the console. Venessa stated she drank it before she arrived to Great Clips. The PO asked Dispatch to have another unit respond to the scene. The PO asked Venessa if she would be willing to submit to Standardized Field Sobriety testing to ensure she was okay to drive. Venessa stated that she would not be willing to submit to any Field Sobriety Testing. Venessa was placed in handcuffs. The PO advised Venessa that she was under arrest for physical control. Venessa was placed in the back seat of cruiser and was advised of her Miranda Rights. Another PO arrived on scene. The other PO asked Venessa how many beers she had drank. Venessa stated she had four beers. The PO asked Venessa if she drank the beer on the way from her residence in Ansonia. Venessa stated that she did drink the beer on her way to Great Clips. The PO asked Venessa when she started drinking. Venessa stated that she began drinking around 2PM. The PO asked Venessa if she refused the Field Sobriety Testing because she had too much to drink. Venessa nodded her head yes. The PO asked Vanessa if she had too much alcohol to be driving and she advised yes. Vanessa was read the BMV 2255 form. The PO located Venessa’s keys in her purse. The PO locked Venessa’s vehicle and rolled her windows up. Venessa was transported to the Greenville Police Department. Upon arrival to the Greenville Police Department Venessa was taken to the patrol operations room. The PO asked Venessa if she would be willing to submit to a breath test. Venessa stated that she refused to submit to the breath test. Venessa was advised that her license is now placed under an Administrative License Suspension for refusing the breath test. Venessa was issued her copy of the BMV-2255 form. Venessa was issued a copy of this citation and was advised of her court date. Venessa was released to her son.
Domestic Violence
BCI only between Ziathean Lemon and Moreah Donthnier who are in a relationship and reside together at 218 Surrey Lane. Moreah stated the incident occurred due to Ziathean refusing to leave the residence. Ziathean stated he had refused to leave because Moreah refused to let him retrieve his personal belongings. Verbal argument only, nothing physical was reported. Ziathean gathered some personal items and left the residence for the day.
