Drug Paraphernalia

February 3

On February 3 at approximately 6:29 PM police observed a green Ford Expedition bearing Ohio registration JLL6123 traveling east on East Main Street. LEADS/NCIC showed that it belonged to a gold Ford registered to a Dvonte Hughes. The P.O. initiated a traffic stop. The driver, Jordan Bradburn. stated that he just purchased the vehicle from a salvage yard in Cincinnati and was on his way back home. Jordan was able to provide a bill of sale for the vehicle from the purchase. While speaking to Jordan the P.O. could detect a strong odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle. Jordan stated that he has marijuana in the car and that he has a medical marijuana card, but was unable to provide it or show proof. As the police was searching Jordan, he stated that he had a meth pipe in his inside coat pocket. Jordan also stated that he had a gun in the vehicle, and also had a marijuana bowl in the vehicle. During the search a black 22 caliber Keltec handgun was located under the drivers seat, with a loaded magazine. Also located was a blue and green glass pipe containing a mixture of burnt and unburnt marijuana, that was between the drivers seat and center console. A digital scale, a multicolored glass pipe with burnt marijuana residue, and another loaded handgun magazine was located in a backpack in the backseat. Jordan was the only occupant of the vehicle. A CCH was checked on Jordan and he has no prior convictions for drug abuse instruments.

Fraud / Identify Theft

February 6

On February 6 at approximately 9:52 AM, police was dispatched to 419 Riffle Avenue in reference to an identity theft. The complainant/victim advised the police that she had received a credit card statement from First Premier Bank out of Sioux Falls, South Dakota in reference to charges to a credit card that she does not own or have possession of. She advised that she did not open the card, charge it or give anyone permission to do so. The P.O. was able to call and speak with the law enforcement branch of the Bank that issued the credit card. They were not able to give any information as to when and where the card was delivered or used due to it being personal information that the victim was unable to provide. They advised that they would be closing the card and account so it could no longer be used for fraudulent purposes.

Possession/Abuse of Drugs

February 7

On February 7 at approximately 9:00 AM, a P.O. assigned as SRO at the Greenville Senior High School, was informed by Principal Hughes that a student had a odor of marihuana emitting from her person. Upon being questioned by Mr. Hughes the P.O. heard the juvenile stating that she smoked Marihuana before school with a friend. The juvenile was then asked by Mr. Hughes if she had anything on the school grounds. She stated she had a Marihuana grinder and cartridges in her vehicle. She was walked out to her car . She opened her vehicle and handed the P.O. the marihuana grinder. The juvenile also tossed a Delta 8 THC cartridge at staff. No other contraband was located in the vehicle.

Aggrevated Robbery

February 7

On February 7 at approximately 12:15 PM police was dispatched to a Robbery in progress at Rural King; 695 Wagner Ave. Krik Young , a witness/employee stated that he observed the suspect in the store. The suspect was pushing a cart full of merchandise that hadn’t been paid for out of an emergency exit on the South side of the building. Young followed the suspect out to his vehicle and the suspect repeatedly told Young that he had a gun when he got close. Young believed that the suspect had a gun and kept his distance. Young stated that the suspect was approximately: 30-40 years old, 5 foot 8 inches tall, 145 pounds, with a goatee. Young stated he was wearing a light blue sweatshirt, with light colored pants. Young described his vehicle as a black 2010-2012 Chevrolet Impala with license plate JDK-7978 but was unsure of the last two numbers of the plate. Upon reviewing video footage the suspect can be seen entering Rural King through the front entrance at approximately 11:07 AM and staying in the store looking at merchandise and adding items to his cart. At approximately 12:12 PM the suspect can be seen with a cart full of merchandise with a Husqvarna chainsaw on top near the emergency exit located at the South side of the building. At approximately 12:14 PM the suspect can be seen leaving the store passing all points of payment and into a black Chevrolet Impala. The manager of Rural King Dave Hildreth stated the suspect left the store with two knife sharpeners, crossbow bolts, multiple pocket knives, crossbow broad heads, Milwaukee power tool battery, DeWalt power impact wrench, belt, and a flashlight but they were recovered outside the store. The suspect was reported to have gotten away into his vehicle with a Husqvarna Chainsaw worth over $500 and a DeWalt circular saw. Dispatch ran the license plate JDK7978 through LEADS but it was determined to not be correct returning to a Gray Ford out of Oregon, Ohio. Police searched the license plate many different ways through our Spillman in house with a black Chevrolet and was able to find JDM7908 returning to a 2011 Chevrolet Impala black in color to a Troy Yeomans who is 45yrs of age with facial hair. The address in Spillman for Troy was 209 East St. Gordon, Ohio 45304. Police went to Troy’s residence at 209 East St in Gordon, Ohio and found the vehicle parked in the driveway. The suspect was also at the residence wearing matching clothing. The P.O., along with the Darke County Sheriff’s Department were able to make contact and arrest the suspect, Marc Mayes and transported him to the Darke County Jail where he was incarcerated with no bond.

Fugitive from Justice

February 8

On February 8 at approximately 8:43 PM, an anonymous complainant called GPD advising of a suspicious subject walking around outside the water treatment plant on State Route 502. Upon arrival, police located a subject in the grassy field just east of the water plant north of SR 502 and identified the subject as Ryan S. Ruppe who was known to have an active bench warrant. Ruppe was arrested, searched and transported to the Darke Co. Jail. Ruppe’s warrant was for FTA – trial for possession of narcotics equipment.
