Disorderly Conduct/Drunkeness

June 10

On June 10, 2023 around 11:37 AM police was dispatched to 111 Deshler Ave in Greenville in reference to the neighbor at 113 Deshler Ave being disorderly. Police could see the neighbor at 113 Deshler Ave, known to police as Rachel Thobe, sitting on the front porch. Rachel was crying and yelling at neighbors. Rachel appeared intoxicated with heavily slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and appeared disheveled. After noticing Rachel, police walked over to 111 Deshler Ave to speak with the complainant/victim, Isaiah Curtis. Isaiah advised he was driving in his vehicle eastbound in the 100 block of Deshler Ave. Isaiah noticed Rachel standing in the roadway. Isaiah stated he had to swerve to avoid her. While trying to avoid Rachel she spit on the passenger side of his car. Isaiah showed police his vehicle and there was 2 spots on the passenger side where police could see a liquid substance. Isaiah’s girlfriend, Lakota Eldridge was in the vehicle with Isaiah at the time and witnessed the incident. Police then spoke to the neighbor who lives at 111 Deshler Ave, known to police as Clark Miller. Clark told police Rachel has been yelling non-stop for several days. On this day she has been drunkenly yelling and cursing at him. Clark did not witness the spit incident take place. While police was speaking with Clark police could hear Rachel yelling and cussing towards us. Rachel also kept on spitting on the ground as well. Police went over and warned Rachel for disorderly conduct. Police went back over to 111 Deshler where police had Clark, Lakota, and Isiah write out statements regarding this incident. Isaiah filled out a victims rights form. Rachel was issued a citation for disorderly conduct. When serving her the citation police noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person. Given Rachel’s belligerent behavior police decided to stay in the area. After waiting less than 2 minutes police witnessed Rachel, again, start to yell and cuss at Clark. Clark went inside and Rachel continued to yell at his house from her own property. Police contacted Rachel’s mother, Rhonda Dross, and informed her of this incident since it was her property at 113 Deshler Ave. Rhonda informed police she would be enroute to speak with Rachel. While police was on the phone Rachel left her property and started dancing/twirling in the roadway. Clark went back outside to the porch of his residence. Rachel noticed Clark and started to yell at him from the roadway, calling him a pussy, and cursing at him. Police detained Rachel and placed her in the back of the cruiser until Rhonda arrived, Rachel’s citation was enhanced to a 4th degree misdemeanor by persisting after being warned for disorderly conduct. Rachel was released into Rhonda’s care and she took her away from the scene.

Domestic Violence

June 12

On June 12, 2023 around 3:41 PM police was dispatched to 503 E Fifth St in reference to a domestic dispute between two brothers. Police located a subject, known to police as Albert Reed, standing on the roadway near the residence. Albert informed police that his brother, David Reed, had struck him in the face, while Albert was on David’s property. Police found out through David and witnesses in the area that Albert had demanded to use David’s shower. David told Albert to leave his property and he wouldn’t. Albert pulled out a bat because he felt David was getting aggressive. When Albert pulled out a bat David struck Albert in the face. No one wanted to pursue charges and both parties were warned for disorderly conduct. No school aged children present. BCI only.

Drugs

June 14

On June 14, 2023 at approximately 5:30 PM police observed a Maroon Chevy traveling south on Chestnut Street. Police checked the registration through LEADS/NCIC and learned that the registered owners driving privileges were under a non-compliance suspension. Police initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at the intersection of Chestnut Street and Fort Jefferson Avenue. Police made contact with the driver, Dion Macias, who is also the registered owner. Dion provided his drivers license and police verified that he was under a non-compliance suspension from 6/9/23 to indefinite. Police then asked Dion if police could search his person and the vehicle, which he consented to. During a search of Dion’s person, a plastic pill bottle containing a small amount of a green leafy substance was located in his pants pocket. Dion admitted that the substance was Marijuana. Police also located a package of hemp rolling papers in Dion’s pants pocket. While searching Dion’s wallet police located 2 counterfeit $100 bills that had “For Motion Picture Purposes” printed on them. Dion admitted to knowing that they were fake and gave police permission to seize them. The marijuana, rolling papers, and counterfeit money were all taken and placed into property at the Greenville Police Department for destruction. Dion was not charged for the Marijuana due to the small quantity. Dion was issued a traffic ticket for Driving Under Suspension and the vehicle was released to Billie Hilderbrand

Theft

June 15

On June 15, 2023 at approximately 1:38 AM police was dispatched to 1350 Sweitzer Street; Speedway reference a shoplifting complaint. Police spoke to the complainant Cortney Fox. Cortney is a Speedway employee and she explained that two male subjects and one female subject were inside of the gas station. Cortney knew one of the males to be Michael Brown since she went to school with him when they were younger. She stated that Michael and the other male subject were looking at the sunglasses and hat display that was located in the northeast corner of the store. Cortney seen the female subject go over to the food roller. Cortney heard the female subject place food items into the snack bags. The female subject then went inside of the bathroom. The female subject then exited that the bathroom and made a Slurpee drink. The female subject then walked up to the register with Michael Brown. Michael paid for the Slurpee drink along with some other miscellaneous food items. Michael and the female subject then exited the store. While Michael was at the register paying for his items the other male subject went inside of the bathroom. When Michael and the female subject exited the store the other male subject exited the bathroom. Cortney noticed that the male subject had a pair of sunglasses in his pants pocket. The male subject exited the store without rendering payment for the sunglasses that were concealed in his pants pocket. Cortney also noticed that there was several food items that were missing from the food roller. Cortney exited the store and confronted all three subjects about the missing food and sunglasses. The male subject then threw a pair of sunglasses onto the sidewalk and began arguing with Cortney. All three subjects got into a blue Ford Ranger pickup truck bearing Ohio registration 424ZBM and left the parking lot traveling northbound on Sweitzer Street. Cortney advised that she was unsure on what items may have been stolen and she stated that she did not have access to the store’s security camera footage. Cortney filled out a written statement. Police had prior knowledge that the suspects vehicle was being operated by Jeremy Jones who is living inside of a garage in the 100 block of Sixth street. Police arrived on Sixth street and noticed that the garage had all of its window’s boarded up and the overhead garage door was shut. Police was unable to make contact with anyone at the garage. Police also went to 311 West Water Street in an attempt to located the pickup truck at this address due to the registered owner living at this address. Police was unable to locate the pickup truck. Around 7:30 AM police arrived back at 1350 Sweitzer Street; Speedway and made contact with the store manager Hailee. Hailee was able to pull up the security camera footage of the incident. Police was able to positively identify the three subjects to be Michael Brown, Jeremy Jones, and Kierra Hamm. In the security video footage Jeremy is seen caring some store items into the women’s bathroom and once he exits the bathroom the store merchandise is no longer in his possession. Hailee explained that she is unable to determine if any merchandise was stolen due to the sunglasses and hat display not being inventoried by the store due to the merchandise being from an outside vendor. Hailee requested that all three of the involved subjects to be trespassed from her store when they located. On June 16, 2023 police made contact with Jeremy Jones in the 100 block of Sixth street. Jeremy confirmed that he went to Speedway with his friends Michael Brown and Kierra Hamm but denied that anyone had stolen anything from the business. Police then explained to Jeremy that he was being trespassed from Speedway. Michael Brown and Kierra Hamm are to be trespassed from Speedway when they are located. There will be no theft charges filed due to inconclusive evidence.

Trash/Dumping

June 16

On 6-16-23 police was dispatched to 1036 Wayne Ave in reference to multiple complaints. Police made contact with the owner/resident, Misti Harsh, 1036 Wayne Ave. reference to trash, a junk motor vehicle and grass being 12 inches or more in height. Misti admitted that the yard was out of control and she would need time but would clean it up. A makeshift dog kennel that is falling down was in the yard. Several plastic bottles and trash bags were in the backyard. A large pile of cardboard boxes were in the backyard. The listed 2005 Kia vehicle was found to have grass and weeds growing up around the tires. Misti admitted it is not functional at this time. Misti Harsh was advised of the grass notice and the street department will follow up with this issue. She was given 15 days for the trash and 15 days for the JMV to be cleaned up and removed. Police will check the property on 7-3-23. SSD Delk and zoning were emailed and Matt Myers from the Street Dept. were contacted reference the grass.

Domestic Violence

June 16

On June 16th, 2023 at approximately 10:58 PM police was dispatched to 109 E Third Street in reference to a domestic violence complaint. Police observed a female running the opposite direction from an injured subject. The injured subject police was able to identify as Jennifer Dye. Police observed that Jennifer was actively bleeding from her left eye and stated she was assaulted by her daughter, Angel Dye. Jennifer stated that she was babysitting Angel’s infant daughter, which is Jennifer’s grand daughter at 109 East Third Street apartment 0. Jennifer stated that she was visiting her mother, Sabine Eichler at this address. Jennifer stated that Angel was at a house party at an undisclosed location. Angel arrived at the listed address highly intoxicated to attempt to get her child. Jennifer told Angel that she should leave the baby with her for the night. Angel started yelling at her and Sabine before striking Sabine multiple times in the chest with a closed fist. Angel then began to shove Jennifer before punching Jennifer in the Face with a close fist causing a laceration over her left eye. Greenville rescue arrived on scene shortly after police’s arrival and Jennifer refused care. Jennifer also refused to write a statement but allowed police to photograph her injuries. Sabine Eichler, who was also assaulted, completed a written statement and victims rights form for the incident. Jennifer and Angel are mother/daughter and both reside at 511 Harrison, Greenville, Ohio 45331. Sabine is Jennifer’s mother and Angels grandmother. she and Angel have lived together in the past. Sabine advised, Jennifer confirmed that the female running from the scene upon police’s arrival was Angel. Jennifer stated Angel was wearing leggings and a black t-shirt. Other police checked the area for Angel and were unable to locate her. Other police also checked Angel’s address, 511 Harrison Avenue and she was not there. Angel has no prior convictions for domestic violence. A BOLO was sent to Darke County Sheriff’s Office to stop and hold for this agency if Angel is located. At approximately 1:00 AM on 6/17/23, GPD dispatch received a call that the defendant returned home to 511 Harrison Avenue. Police responded and placed the defendant under arrest. The defendant was charged with two counts of domestic violence. Witness statements, victims rights forms and victim notification sheets were completed.

Assault

June 17

On June 17th, 2023 police was dispatched to 636 Washington Ave in reference to a possible domestic. While on the way dispatch advised that the suspect had left the residence. Police made contact with victim/complainant, Clayton Hans. Police observed Hans’ s right eye to be swollen and bruised. Police also observed Hans’s bottom lip to be swollen. When asked what had occurred Hans was first reluctant with wanting to cooperate and did not want to give the suspects name at first. After Hans was checked out and cleared and signed a refusal for treatment by Greenville Township Rescue, Hans decided to cooperate. Hans stated that he and the the suspect, Heather Fox, were arguing while getting ready for bed. Hans said the argument was about Hans choosing to sleep on the couch the previous night. Hans stated that’s when he decided to lay down on the bed. Hans said that Fox then slapped him across the face because he laid down on the wrong side of the bed. Hans stated that he was done and would not be hit again and went down the stairs and onto the porch. Hans said while on the porch he was eating out of a can of nuts when Fox came out and grabbed the can out of his hand. Hans said that he then grabbed the can back out of hers. Hans said that they both went back inside the residence where Hans sat down on the couch. Hans explained that they were still arguing and Hans eventually called Fox a “Dumbass”. Hans said that was when Fox proceeded to punch him with closed fist to the face approximately 8 to 10 times. Hans said that was when the injury occurred to his face. Hans said that he covered his face with his arms trying to protect himself but was unsuccessful. Hans also said that he was wearing his glasses and showed me that they were missing the right lens. Hans did complain of jaw pain as well as eye and lip pain while speaking with him. When asked about the relationship, Hans stated that they were boyfriend and girlfriend. Hans said they had been roughly dating for about a month and Fox moved in on approximately June 7th. Other police then located Fox at 116 Cypress where she was taken into custody. Police spoke with Fox and she denied living with Hans but stated she was helping with chores. Fox provided a statement for police stating that Hans began throwing items around the residence. While on scene police did not observe this to have occurred. Due to conflicting stories on the relationship status and living arrangements it was decided that Fox would be charged with Assault. Hans had a friend, Racinda Covault, write his witness statement for him. Hans also was given and filled out all proper victims rights forms. Fox was served her citation at the jail and advised of her mandatory court date and time.

Pursuit

June 18

On June 18, 2023 at approximately 8:18 PM while on patrol, police observed a black motorcycle traveling northbound on Walnut Street at East Fourth Street. Police observed the motorcycle fail to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Walnut Street and East Fourth Street. Police recognized the driver of the motorcycle, as he had previously fled from police on June 06, 2023 after police attempted a traffic stop on him while he was operating the same motorcycle. Police attempted to obtain the license plate number of the motorcycle but the license plate was dirty, dated and unreadable. Police observed the operator fail to stop for a steady red light at the intersection of Walnut Street and East Main Street before failing to signal a right turn while turning right onto East Main Street. Police attempted to make a traffic stop on the operator and he fled from police at a high rate of speed. Police activated my emergency siren and initiated a pursuit of the motorcycle operator. The operator traveled eastbound on East Main Street before entering Wagner Avenue and traveling northbound. Police observed the operator improperly change lanes several times to avoid traffic and police observed it fail to stop for a steady red light at the intersection of Wagner Avenue and Russ Road while traveling northbound. The operator reached speeds of approximately ll0MPH while continuing northbound on Greenville Celina Road at Children’s Home Bradford Road. Police then terminated the pursuit due to traffic conditions and the reckless operation of the suspect. The suspect was wearing a black shirt, a black helmet, grey shorts, black red & white shoes, and a black backpack. The motorcycle was black with black rims. Police reached a maximum speed of approximately 90MPH during the pursuit. The distance traveled was approximately 2.51 miles.
