Greenwave Varsity Bowling: Greenwave place 2nd

By Rich Hadden |

The Greenwave Varsity Boys Bowling team participated in the Blackhawk Tournament at Woodcrest Lanes on Saturday morning.  The boys had an amazing day.  The format was a 2 game / 6 baker format.  After game 1, the boys were up by 147 pins over 2nd place.  After game 2, the boys extended their lead to 322 pins over 2nd place.  The bakers were challenging, but the boys continued to extend their lead to 410 pins to secure the 1st place seed for the brackets.  The boys got a bye in round one and face Mississiniwa in the semi-finals.  They beat Mississinawa 162-153 and 169-111.  The boys faced Ansonia in the championship round.  The boys started off well with a win of 164-116.  The Ansonia boys did a great job and came back to win game 2 164-177.  The Ansonia boys turned up the afterburners and defeated the Greenwave boys 140-217 on the final game.

The boys had some important distinguising notes for the match.  The top 4 out of 8 spots for the All Tournament Team went to Greenville Boys.

Luke Kiser – 1st place – 406 (203,203)

Conner Leas – 2nd place – 394 (168,226)

Roman Swisher – 3rd place – 389 (234,155)

Jonathan Floyd – 4th place – 355 (180,175)

Our fifth bowler, Michel Thompson finished in 10th place with games of 155,169.  So all Greenville Bowlers finished in the top 10.  Roman Swisher had the high game of the tournament with a 234 and Conner Leas had the 2nd highest game of the tournament with a 226.  Very, very proud of how well our boys bowled on Saturday.  They will face Piqua at home on Monday.

Congrats to the Ansonia Tigers for the win during the brackets!
