Greg Burns 63, New Madison, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday April 14, 2021 at 10:56 PM at Reid Health, Richmond, Indiana. Greg was born December 18, 1957 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Clay and Virginia (Dubbs) Burns. He worked at Honda of America.
When Greg was younger, he was a member of the Sports Car Club of America; he served as the Mayor of New Madison for 10 years. After restoring old homes together, Greg and Julie started an Old Home Restoration Business. Greg was an excellent woodworker and an avid British sports car collector, enjoyed golfing, and he was a Cincinnati Reds fan and he was thrilled to personally meet Pete Rose.
The most important thing to Greg was his children and family.
Greg is preceded in death by his son: Daniel Burns; his parents; his brother: Gary Burns; his sister: Sandra (Burns) Horn; his father in law: Charles Fisher; his grandparents: Virgil and Faye Dubbs.
Greg is survived by his wife of 41 years Julie (Fisher) Burns of New Madison whom he married December 1, 1979 and they have been together for 46 years; his daughter: Jessica Burns of New Madison; his son: Ian Burns of New Madison; his mother in law and father in law: Rita (Larry) Walters; his brother in law and family: Jeff (Staci) Fisher and children Anya and Aria; his sister in law and family: Jill (Fisher) Jones and children Elizabeth (Kevin) and Hunter (Alexa) Jones.
A celebration of Greg’s life will be held on Saturday April 24, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Burial will follow Oak Grove Cemetery, Fort Jefferson, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday April 23, 2021 at the funeral home. In accordance with Covid 19 protocols, facial coverings will be required for anyone attending the visitation or services. Memorial contributions may be made to the James Cancer Center.
