Gregg Blumenstock

Gregg Blumenstock age 67 of Greenville, Ohio passed away November 30th  at the Ohio State University Hospital after suffering complications of an abdominal ruptured aneurism (AAA).  Gregg was born July 1st, 1954 in Pensacola, FL.

Gregg is survived by his loving wife Connie (Rhotehamel) Blumenstock, whom he married October 4th, 1978. He is also survived by his son Eric, and wife Kim Blumenstock; grandchildren Bryce and Kara Blumenstock; brother Kirk and wife Carmen Blumenstock; Sister Gina Blumenstock and partner Michele Gibson; Mother-in-Law Maxine Rhotehamel; Sister-in-law Kathy and husband Steve Waymire; Brother-in-Law Larry Rhotehamel; Stepmother Linda Blumenstock and Step Brother Chad Youst.  Also, many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gregg was preceded in death by his mother Wilda Blumenstock (Kendall); father Richard Blumenstock; brother Kent Blumenstock; and Father-in-Law Bernard Rhotehamel; and grandchild Blake Blumenstock.

Gregg enjoyed many years of service with the Fram Oil Filter Corporation, Greenville, where he started prior to high-school graduation with the GHS Co-Op program and in recent years in the Receiving Department. Following Fram, he and wife Connie owned and operated Miller Furniture in Gettysburg, following his father’s retirement.   After closing down the furniture store, he & Connie ventured across the United States, including Alaska, managing large liquidations for major companies for 10+ years.

Although Gregg was born in Pensacola, FL at the Naval Hospital, where father Richard was serving in the Navy; the family moved back to Gettysburg area, where Gregg and the 3 other siblings grew up on Miller Road.   Gregg loved his unique cars in his early years; classic ’61 Ford Falcon 3-speed on column; Yellow 70’ Capri; 72’ Black Blazer 3-speed on the floor.

Gregg enjoyed fishing, and spent many good times at the family favorite Black Lake Michigan site, near Cheboygan; where walleye was the prize catch, along with smallmouth bass and northern pike.

He participated in sports; baseball and basketball; but truly excelled when he became the Coach for his son Eric, and later for his grandchildren.  His new passion was following the kids sporting events, where he/Connie attended all games.  Spending time with the kids’ games & tournaments became his new vacation and life’s rewards.   Gregg was a wonderful and loving husband; a one-of-a-kind Big Brother; an excellent coach; and most supportive Grandpa Gregg!   His loving spirit will be remembered daily, as he laid a foundation of love and support.  We will miss you Gregg!
