Gregory Lee Maitlen

JUNE 26, 1957 – JULY 24, 2024

Gregory Lee Maitlen, 67, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024 after a fierce battle with pancreatic cancer.

He is survived by the love of his life, Tammy Maitlen, whom he married a week after the blizzard in February of 1978.

Greg and Tammy have four children: Amy Maitlen (Mike Hoover), Mindee Maitlen, Justin Maitlen (Amber), and Kelsie Mercer (Marcus Mercer).

His favorite people called him Papaw, his Grandsons, Xavier Maitlen, Isaiah Gilmore, Sam Maitlen, and Max Maitlen, and his Granddaughter, Austen Mercer.

He leaves behind four siblings: Steve, Stan, Lisa and his brother and best friend, Mark (Susie).

Greg worked in construction for over 40 years and was always proud to point out the houses that he built.

Greg loved sports, he was a die-hard Ohio State, Cincinnati Bengals, and Reds fan and got to see his favorite team, the Boston Celtics win another NBA title.

He loved Christmas and never missed an opportunity to slip in a movie quote. While he never got to ride alongside Troy Landry on a gator hunt, he is the reigning world champion, along with his brother, Mark, in their fantasy football league.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. O…H…

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to an organization that was important to him. The Autism Society of Dayton. Https://autismsocietyofdayton.org
