NEW MADISON- Patriots head coach Matt Hopkins was a very happy man after Tri-Village rolled to a 55-17 homecoming victory over Dixie Friday.
“All victories are sweet but a win on homecoming is even sweeter,” said Hopkins.
The Patriots trailed 7-0 early but after that it was all Tri-Village.
The Patriots took a 8-7 lead at the 7:56 mark on a three yard run by freshman Colt Camacho.
Af the 4:41 mark, Camacho struck again on a 53 yard romp and by the end of the opening quarter, the Patriots held a commandingI 24-7 lead and they took a 41-10 lead at the break.
While the offense would click the rest of the night, the Patriots defense would shine, allowing the Greyhounds next to nothing on offense.
With the victory, the Patriots go to 5-2 on the season and still in the hunt for a post season game in three weeks.
The Patriots will play at Bradford next and will close out the season at home against National Trail for senior night.
