James Howard Neitzelt, age 74, of Arcanum, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024, at Oakley Place, Greenville. He was born May 18, 1949, in Greenville, Ohio, to his parents Robert & Eva (McDermott) Neitzelt.
Jim graduated from Bradford High School in 1967 and earned his bachelors degree from General Motors Institute in 1971. Jim retired from General Motors in 2000 after 35 years as an automotive engineer. He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pitsburg and enjoyed playing golf.
Jim will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Teresa Ann (Kendall) Neitzelt of Arcanum; granddaughter Kayetlyn Hall Rutherford of West Milton; sisters and brother-in-law Jean Millet of Bradford, Carol & Don Christian of Bradford; grandson-in-law Cody Rutherford of West Milton; great granddaughters Ashley & Jordyn Rutherford of West Milton; step-children Holly Long Cotner of Ft. Loramie, Elizabeth Long Martin of Florida, Michael Long of Troy; step-grandchildren Max Cotner, Jack Cotner, Lily Cotner, Olivia Martin, Magnolia Long, Cameron Martin, Kendall Long. He was preceded in death by his first wife Marsha (Allen) Neitzelt; his daughter Angel Neitzelt; and great grandson Ethan.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, January 13, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8520 Oakes Rd, Pitsburg, OH 45358. Pastor Mel Musser will officiate with interment following at Greenville Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 PM Friday at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami Street, West Milton, and from 9:30-10:30 AM Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
