James “Jim” Dennis Marker, age 77 of Greenville, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 22, 1947 in Greenville to the late Doyle and Marjorie (McClurg) Marker.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Keiber and Karen Swabb.
Jim will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Dixie Marker; children, Tracy Pratt, Jerod Pratt, and Matthew Pratt; granddaughter, Kara Pratt; great granddaughters, Brielle Smith and Brynna Pratt; niece, Tammy Cron (Joe); nephews, Shawn Swabb (Shelly) and Dennis Swabb (Renae Wise); good friend, Doug Combs; very special friend, Brittany Young; and the family would like to extend a special thank you to Dixie’s family for their love and support.
Jim was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War, serving from 1967-1968. He worked for many years at Corning in Greenville doing factory work. Jim was a 40-year member of the American Legion and 37-year member of the VFW in Greenville. He loved his country home; it was his pride and joy. He also enjoyed tending to his garden. If you knew Jim, you knew his last word to you was always “Toodles”.
There will be no services held per the request of Jim.
