SEPTEMBER 3, 1941 – JANUARY 7, 2023
James L. Rider age 81, of Greenville passed away at 6:05 pm Saturday, January 7, 2023, in the ER at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn J. (Tyson) Rider whom he married December 29, 1961; children, Joyce & Jeff Rider of Ansonia, Lee & Janet Rider of Versailles and Christine & Travis Shinn of Greenville; grandchildren, Sheena & Kevin Kocher, Alex Grote, Ashley & Shaun Steinke, Joseph Rider, Jason (Lauren Allen) Rider, Eric (Crystal Wise) Rider, Ashley (Ian Grice) Rider, Katelyn & Anthony Oda, David (Heather Griffith) Ecton, Jessica Maize and Lane Shinn; grandpa Jim’s beloved great-grandchildren; and brother & sister-in-law, Michael E. & Judy Rider of Arcanum.
Jim owned and operated Rider Agri Sales in Greenville. He was a hard worker and proud provider for his family. Jim was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Greenville.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with President Jeff Yantis officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the funeral home.
