James Luther Wooten, 50, of Coldwater, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born on October 16, 1971, in Greenville, Ohio, to Marlene (Swallow) Hinkle of Troy, Ohio, and the late Luke Wooten.
James was a hardworking man, working many 14-hour days to support his family. He was a truck driver his whole life, learning to drive semi trucks when he was 7 years old, moving trucks around for his Dad. He was a Christian; he loved God; and he loved his family. He always tried to do what was right, putting the needs of others before his own. James loved working on cars, both real and models. He loved his family and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sandra Phipps Wooten; his children, Brandon (Jessica) Weese of Union City, Indiana, Melissa (Ben) Hampshire of Bradford, Ohio, Kyle Wooten of Greenville, Ohio, Brittany (Brandon) Gabbard of Ansonia, Ohio, Travis (Rose) Wooten of Ansonia, Matthew (Genesis) Wooten of Coldwater, and Richard Wooten of Coldwater; his grandchildren, Shelby Weese, Savannah, Hunter, and Peyton Hampshire, Kyle Wooten, Jr., Emma and Noah Gabbard, Bentley Wooten, and Hannah Wooten; his siblings, Mark Wooten of Greenville, John Wooten of Versailles, Ohio, Dan Wooten of Sidney, Ohio, and Mary Ann Applegate of Middletown, Ohio; his best friend, of 45 years, Rick Schoenlein; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service for James will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Greenville Baptist Church, 4689 Childrens Home – Bradford Road, Greenville, Ohio 45331, with Pastor Tim Pol officiating.
James’ family will be receiving guests on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at noon at the church.
