Janet E. Hissong, age 96, of Greenville, formerly of Englewood, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the Brethren Retirement Community. She was born May 1, 1928 to Floyd & Neva (Hollingsworth) Wheelock in Ludlow Falls, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband John Wendell Hissong and son Timothy J. Hissong; special beagle Penny. She will be missed and remembered by her loving son Thomas R. Hissong of Dayton; grandson Bryan (Kim) Hissong; great granddaughter Olivia Hissong; sister Marcia Huffaker of Greenville.
Janet was a 1946 Milton-Union High School graduate and loved gardening in her flower beds, water color painting, and going to exercise classes at the Englewood Senior Center.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Aullwood Audubon Center.
