Janet Sue (Roll) Heft of Versailles, Ohio, age 70, died at 6:30 p.m., Friday, February 18, 2022 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
Daughter to late Wayne and Lois (Rhoades) Roll, Janet was born on August 4, 1951 in Versailles, Ohio. Along with her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her brother James ‘Jim’ Roll and sister-in-law Shirley Roll Eiting.
She is survived by four loving children: Tracy (Jeremy) Cordonnier of Versailles, Angela (Eric) Brown of Versailles, Lori Elizabeth Heft of Tucson, AZ, and Susan (Joel) Knouff of Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren: Taylor (Brandon) Siegrist of Greenville, OH, Jordan, Lauryn, Alex Cordonnier of Versailles, Noah (Harley), Reagan, and Isaac Brown of Versailles; brother Larry (Joan) Roll of Versailles; sister Linda Ford of Springboro, OH and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Janet worked for many years as a Registered Nurse before resigning in 2002. She offered years of dedicated service to the patrons of Grace Resurrection Community Center’s soup kitchen with EUM church and enjoyed water aerobics at the Versailles YMCA.
She had a quirky sense of humor and was a jack-of-all trades. She could cook and sew and craft and build… there wasn’t much she couldn’t do! As a mother, grandmother, and friend she would help clean out your refrigerator, babysit your kids, fund your mission trips, and help you paint your home. She attended sporting events, cooked meals, scratched backs, offered transport and could tell you where monarch butterflies go to roost… and other random facts.
A celebration of Janet’s life will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio, with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Brock Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Resurrection Community Center.
