January 13, 1957 — May 12, 2024
Jenny Sue Knight, age 67, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home, on Sunday, May 12, 2024.
She was born on January 13, 1957 in Richmond, Indiana to the late William Conley and Audrey Jones Farmer. Jenny has lived here in Darke County with her family since 1987.
She was preceded in death by her son Matthew Ryan Knight, her parents, and siblings Hilda Myers, Gary Farmer, Skip Farmer, Ron Farmer, Vickie Strunk, brother-in-law Bill Jackson, and sister-in-law Judy Farmer.
Jenny’s focus was her husband, children and for the last 11 years her granddaughters, Afton and Iris. She loved being a mother more than anything, her love for her children was unmatched. Jenny was known for her sweet and steady nature, a shining light whose inner joy was seen by everyone she was around. The funny exception might be during a basketball or soccer game if the referee made a call she didn’t think was fair against one of her boys.
She especially enjoyed working with and caring for children with which she was gifted. She always enjoyed the many opportunities in ministry to help with Vacation Bible School, during Sunday School as a teacher, in the nursery caring for babies, and being a supportive and active pastor’s wife. Her love for her family always included being Aunt Jenny to a large number of nieces and nephews. They remember her hugs and the “Jenny mints” she always carried in her purse. She loved to go shopping especially with her sister Vickie. Her sister Dianna has been her friend, defender and encourager especially in these last years. Her love for family also included the Coletown and Teegarden Church families that have been very gracious in her life especially in the last decade. She worked in the Greenville area for 10 years at the Bread of Life Bookstore, and later at the Winchester Wal-Mart.
Jenny is survived by her husband, Eric Knight: her son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Rachel Knight; granddaughters, Afton and Iris Knight; sister and brother-in-law, Dianna and David Mosier; sister-in-laws Brenda Farmer, Becky Farmer, Teresa Jackson; brother-in-laws Stan Myers, Buddy Strunk, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be given to Everheart Hospice 1350 N. Broadway St. Greenville, OH 45331; Coletown Church 2876 St Rt 571 W Greenville, OH 45331; or Teegarden Church PO Box 392 Ansonia, OH 45303.
