PITSBURG- Every coach wants to gain a victory to start the season Franklin Monroe coach Troy Myers not only got that victory but watched his Jets soar to new heights.
It didn’t take long for Milton Union to realize it was out matched.
The Bulldogs held one lead but after that it belonged to the home team as the Jets flew to a 63-23 victory.
“We got out of the gate early,” said Myers. “We let our defense work for us and the offense took care of the rest. We tried to create the momentum early. It was nigh two for them t think we set the mentality of the game. Our defense set the tone for our offense and we shot. the ball well.”
By the end of the opening quarter, the writing was on the wall as the Jets held a commanding 18-2 lead and never looked back.
By end of the half, the only thing that was left to be decided was the final score as Franklin Monroe was in command, 32-8.
“I think we played at a great pace and it opened up the floor for a lot of players”; Myers pointed out. “It was great to be able to run players in and out. Everyone saw the floor tonight and I was happy to see that.”
Led by Eric Brenner with 18 points with junior Lucas Brenner adding 12 in support, the Jets possessed a balanced attack.
The Jets will travel to Lynn, Indiana Tuesday to tangle with the Randolph Southern The Rebels.1-0; hold a victory over the Union Rockets, 77-45.
