Joanne Marceil Fisher

Joanne Marceil Fisher, 91, of Union City, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at St. Vincent Randolph County Hospital in Winchester, Indiana.

She was born October 28, 1930, in Randolph County, Indiana, to the late Perry and Maudie (Baker) Gullett.

In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Fisher; her brother, Arthur “Boyd” Gullett; and her sister, Mildred Bromagem Runkel.

Joanne had a strong passion for genealogy. She was a charter member of the Miami Valley Genealogical Society having served as Query Editor. She was also active in the Darke County, Ohio and Randolph County, Indiana, Genealogical Societies. She was a dedicated member of the Fort Greenville Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, serving as secretary, treasurer, and vice regent with almost 50 years of service.  She had a love of sewing and sewed most of all of her clothes.  She and Bill did a lot of traveling during their retirement years overseas, with her favorite destination being Ireland.

She is survived by her children, Barbara (Brian) Livingston of Rockford, Illinois, and Deborah (Ric) Burkett of Keystone Heights, Florida; her granddaughter, Allison (Jonathan) Butler of Winchester, IN; her step grandchildren, Sheryl (Richard) Byron of Piqua, Jason (Allison) Hittle of Union City, Ohio, and Chris Weimer of Fairborn, Ohio; her great grandson, Grayson Butler; her step great grandchildren, Coltin and Kaitlyn Byron, Kylie Hire, and Kelsey and Kaleb Hittle.

A celebration of Joanne’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 24. 2022 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Tony Price officiating. Burial will follow at Union City Cemetery.

Joanne’s family will be receiving guests on Thursday, from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to American Heritage Assisted Living, 204 Staudt Drive, Union City, Indiana 47390. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at American Heritage Assisted Living, Union City IN for their loving care that they have provided.
