John Timothy Witter age 56, of Dayton passed away at 8:40 am on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Kettering Medical Center.
John was born December 17, 1964, in Greenville to the late Billy & Tannya (Cooper) Witter.
John is survived by his siblings, William Daniel (Sandi) Witter of Medway, Jennifer (Randy) Robinson of Troy, Julie (Gary) Reed of Christiana, Tennessee, and Lorie (John Mark) Hatcliff of Manhattan, Kansas; dear friend, Molly McGuire of Oakwood; and many nieces and nephews.
John was a 1983 graduate of Greenville High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in History from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University and a master’s degree in Social Work from Indiana University. John was a licensed Social Worker and held a certification to be a licensed Independent Social Worker. John was an advocate for mental health and was very passionate about counseling. John was an avid Reds fan and enjoyed golfing. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to make everyone laugh.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Spartanburg Cemetery in Spartanburg, Indiana, with Pastor William Daniel Witter officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kettering Medical Center Foundation-Critical Care Unit in John’s memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville.
