Joseph H. Zehringer, age 68 of Union City, Ohio passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family at 3:20 AM on Thursday, August 10, 2023. Born in Celina, Ohio on April 21, 1955 he was a son to the late James Earnest & Rita Ann (Fortkamp) Zehringer. Joe had been a truck driver for Penske for many years. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion and had also been the head of the Jaycees. In his free time you could find him at Coldwater Creek fishing, or cooking out, and watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals play football. He was a simple, down to earth guy; but at the same time, the life of the party. Joe was an amazing father, husband, grandpa and friend; he will be truly missed. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers Paul, Ray and Gary Zehringer: sisters Mary Ann Gibson and Linda Ridgeway: brother-in-law Chris Stucke.
Survived by his wife of 49 years, Tonia (Graham) Zehringer, whom he married February 9, 1974: children Sharla Ann Zehringer; RaeLee & Tim Lewis; Sarah Jo & Mark Davis; Seth Joseph & Christie Zehringer; Nathan Robert & Deborah Zehringer; Kristen Mae & Troy Poling; Tyler Graham & Jennifer Nicole Zehringer; Victoria Lynn & Morgan Gard: 21 grandchildren: 3 great-grandchildren: siblings Jim & Sharon Zehringer; Theresa & DJ Bisel; Margaret & Mike Thobe; Chuck & Lynn Zehringer; Nancy & Dean Darland; Jane & Jim Rammel; Barb Stucke; Dr. Dan Zehringer & Justin Mohler: sisters-in-law Gina, Lora, Brenda and Mickey: special neighbors Dave & Bobbi; Herb & Becky: as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
