Joy D. Huff, 85, of New Madison, Ohio, went home to meet her Lord on Monday, August 9, 2021, at The Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.
She was born on November 20, 1935, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Robert Baker and Agnes “Pud” (Teaford) Baker-Flory.
In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Steele; an infant brother, Nathaniel; her sister-in-law, Buena Baker, her stepdaughter, Debbie Toney and her stepfather, Ray Flory.
Joy was a graduate of New Madison High School. Prior to moving to Greenville, she and Allan attended Oak Creek Worship Center in Kettering, Ohio. She had a great love for her family. She lived her life always willing to share the love of Jesus with those she encountered. Her hobbies included canning, sewing, baking and playing cards, with Pinochle being a family favorite. She will be remembered as a strong and devoted Christian woman who put her faith into action by participating in several mission trips.
Joys is survived by her husband of 43 years, Allan P. Huff, whom she married on December 25, 1977; her daughter, Kay (Larry) Smith, of Greenville; her son, Chris (Karen) Steele of Navarre, Florida; her step-children, Eddie and Vickie; her grandchildren, Michelle (Randy) Ruble, Michael Smith, Craig Steele and Danielle Steele; her great-grandchildren, Taira, Kelsie and Joshua Ruble and Darrian Steele; her brother Bob Baker; and her nieces, Cheryl (Bruce) Salyer, Suzanne Gagnon; and her nephew, Mark (Janel) Baker.
A celebration of Joy’s life will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery in New Madison.
Joy’s family will receive guests on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
