Joyce E. Mathieson age 81, of Greenville passed away at 3:39 AM on Monday, July 19, 2021, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.
Joyce was born March 29, 1940, in Dayton to the late Harold Lowell & Margariet Elizabeth (Heindl) Wimmer. In addition to her parents, Joyce was also preceded in death by her husband, William E. “Bill” Mathieson on January 31, 2011, whom she married October 3, 1959.
Joyce is survived by her children, Annette (Jim) Byers-Smith of Greenwood, Indiana, Pamela (Nick) Trent of Greenville and Dale (Michelle) Mathieson of Lilburn, Georgia; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and sisters & brother-in-law, Beverly Farmer of Eaton and Peggy & Bill Leeper of Eaton.
Joyce retired from Fram-Honeywell in Greenville. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Greenville and volunteered at Wayne HealthCare for 8 years.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 26, 2021, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Peter Menke officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park in Covington. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
