It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, aunt, niece, and friend, Karen Marie DeMange, of Versailles on April 6th, 2025. She was 69 years old. Karen passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Village Green with EverHeart Hospice Care in Greenville after a short battle with cancer.
Karen was born March 4th, 1956, to the late Homer and Alice (McEldowney) DeMange in Versailles, Karen graduated Versailles High School in 1974. She then spent 46 years caring for others, working at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. She was also a member of St. Denis Parish. In her free time, Karen enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her home.
Karen is survived by her siblings, Ronald (Joan) DeMange of Versailles, Susan (John) Pottkotter of Columbus, Joe (Cindy) DeMange of Versailles, Mark (Donna) DeMange of North Star; as well as 13 nieces and nephews, Jesse (Molly) DeMange, Jon (Maria) DeMange, Jake (Alyssa) DeMange, Megan (Jamie) Borowski, Molly (Molly) Pottkotter, Pam (Jared) Writesel, Sandy (Aaron) Bergman, Bill (Terry) DeMange, Matt (Holly) DeMange, Eric (Jenny) DeMange, Darren DeMange, Kyle (Cassie) DeMange, and Kristin (Brice) Alspach; 36 great nieces and nephews, and aunt and uncles. She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Alice DeMange, her grandparents Alfred and Ursula DeMange, and Leroy and Mildred McEldowney, as well as aunts and uncles and a great nephew.
She will live on in the memories she created with family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, April 10th, 2025, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Ned Brown celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in Frenchtown. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 am at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
