Katherine “Kathy” Mae Houdeshell, 87, of Miamisburg, Ohio, formerly of Franklin, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Wood Glen Alzheimer’s Community in Miamisburg.
She was born on November 16, 1934, in Lewisburg, Ohio, to the late Russell Hartman and Iola (Brown) Anderson.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her brother and his wife, Melvin (Betty) Hartman; her sister-in-law, Margaret Hartman; and her significant other, Paul Taylor.
Kathy was a graduate of Twin Valley North High School. She worked for General Motors for over 40 years until her retirement in April of 1991. Kathy loved playing bingo and going to casinos. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling, especially down to Florida.
Kathy is survived by her children, David Houdeshell of Greenville, Ohio, Susan (Steve) Burke of Arcanum, Ohio, Thomas (Barbara Lyerly) Houdeshell of Greenville, Scott Houdeshell of Asheville, North Carolina, and Lori (Chris) Knick of Arcanum; her 14 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great children; and her brother Russell Hartman, Jr. of Eaton, Ohio.
A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus with Pastor Don Smith officiating.
Guests may visit with her family on Wednesday from 2:00 PM until the start of the service at 3:00 PM.
Kathy will be laid to rest in Greenville Union Cemetery at a later date.
