Kathy S. Brewer age 62, of Fort Recovery passed away quietly at her residence. Kathy was born July 27, 1962, in Darke County to Robert “Ed” Jones and the late Dixie (Wentworth) Jones. Kathy was also preceded in death by a sister, Roxanne Reed.
In addition to her father, Kathy is survived by her husband, Dennis Brewer whom she married September 11, 2010; daughter & son-in-law, Ashley & Shaun Scrafford; grandchildren, Erika & Alex Scrafford; siblings, David Jones, Robbie & Sherri Jones, Nick & Tammy Jones, and Dianna Hofer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathy was a 1980 graduate of Greenville High School. She managed the Maid-Rite in Greenville for over 35 years.
Kathy was woman whose love, kindness, and strength touched all who were fortunate enough to know her. As a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother, she was a cornerstone of her family, offering unwavering support, boundless love, and a warmth that will forever live in the hearts of those around her.
Late Saturday night, after a long and courageous battle, she lost the fight she fought so valiantly. Though her loss is deeply felt, her final moments were peaceful, surrounded by those who loved her. Her strength, grace, and resilience in the face of adversity were a testament to the incredible woman she was.
The family would like to thank all the family and friends over the last year who have helped, enrich our days, and been a supporting hand. Your presence in her life has been a constant source of strength, comfort, and love. You have lifted us up in our times of need and shared in our moments of joy, reminding us that we are never alone. Your kindness and compassion have made this journey more bearable, and for that, we are forever grateful.
A celebration of Kathy’s life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Darke County.
