Kent Alan Hofacker, 66, of Arcanum, Ohio, formerly of Brownstown, Indiana, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana.
He was born in Greenville, Ohio, on September 1, 1954, to the late Gene and Marilyn (Gilfillan) Hofacker.
In addition to his parents, Kent was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert Moyer; and his brothers-in-law, James Moore, Harvey Wilt, Verlin Anderson, and Ronnie Moyer.
Kent was a 1973 graduate of Tri-Village High School where he was inducted into the Tri-Village Athletic Hall of Fame. He retired in 2015 as the Vice President of Best One Giant Tire Company. Kent loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan, with The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns being among his favorites. After Kent moved back to Darke County, he attended Cedar Grove Church.
Kent is survived by his wife of 42 years, Becky (Moyer) Hofacker, whom he married on September 9, 1979; his mother-in-law, Mary Wright of Arcanum; his sons, Charles Ditty III of Greenville, and Craig (Daun) Ditty of Greenville; his grandchildren, Justin Ditty, Danielle (James) Harless, Alyssa (Doug Dennings) Ditty, Caleb Ditty, Kelsy (Chris Eby) Anthony, Brooklynn (Ryan) Holderman and Carlee Anthony; his great grandchildren, Bella, Elizabeth, Cecilia, Liam Harless, Ava Dennings and Savannah, Noah and Lucas Holderman, and one on the way; his sisters, Joy Moore and Jill (Bill) Moore; his brother, Kris Hofacker; his sisters-in-law, Shari Wilt and Darlene Anderson, and his brother-in-law, Bob Moyer; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
A celebration of Kent’s life will be held at 11:00 AM. on Friday, August 13, 2021, at the Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren Family Life Center, 373 Love Road, New Paris, Ohio, with Pastor Tony Price officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery in New Madison.
Kent’s family will receive guests on Thursday, August 12, 2021, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and again on Friday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service at 11:00 AM at the Family Life Center.
