Larry Donald Downey age 59, of Greenville passed away at 5:46 pm Sunday, February 11, 2024, at his residence.
Larry was born August 5, 1964, in Greenville to Korene “Rae” (Marshall) Downey of Greenville and the late Arthur Vaughn Downey Sr.
In addition to his mother, Larry is survived by his son, Dorin Downey; step daughter, Brie Monticue; brothers & sisters-in-law, Jerry & Angie Downey, Vaughn & Pam Downey and Allen Trish Downey; sister, Cynthia Downey & Douglas Shepherd; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry served in the U.S. Army. He did ground maintenance at Eldora Speedway. Larry was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Greenville.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, February 16, 2024, at Trinity Wesleyan Church 1400 East Main St. Greenville with Allen Downey officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park in Covington with full military honors conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville and Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the church.
