Larry Eugene Baker

Larry Eugene Baker, 81, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Wayne Healthcare in Greenville.

He was born on May 7, 1940, in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Eugene Baker and Virginia (Hart) Wandle.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his children, Tamara Ware, Angela Baker, and Steven Baker; his sister, Dorothy Ward; and his stepfather, Tex Erney.

Larry was a graduate of Ansonia High School. He joined the United States Army, where he served his country honorably. Larry worked at Cal-Maine Farms for many years until his retirement in 2015. In his free time, Larry enjoyed computers and taking train rides across the country. He liked watching golf and the history channel. Larry loved his golden retrievers, especially his beloved dog, Murphy.

Larry is survived by his wife of 46 1/2 years, Rebecca “Becky” Baker, whom he married on July 26, 1975; his children, Dawn Baker of Winchester, Indiana, Krista Baker of Greenville, Michelle (John) Hoehne of Houston, Ohio, and Kimberly (Scott) Kelly of New Albany, Ohio; his grandchildren, Danielle Baker, Ryan Neddo, Aaron Baker, Corey Baker, Herschel Hoehne, Cree Huffman, Dakotah Huffman, Jacob (Emily) Szydlik, Tatum Baker, Gaven Ware, and Olivia Kelly; his 6 great grandchildren; his siblings, Sue Detling of Greenville, Carl (Joyce) Baker of Arcanum, Ohio, and Robert Baker of DeGraff, Ohio.

A celebration of Larry’s life will take place at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, 1000 N. Broadway St., Greenville, Ohio 45331, with Pastor Hershel Fee officiating. Larry’s dedication to our country will be recognized and remembered during a military service conducted by the Greenville Honor Guard beginning at 7:00 PM.

Guests may visit with Larry’s family on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until the start of the service at 7:00 PM.
