Lila Lee “Fritz” Pinney, age 93 passed away Thursday, December 19, 2022 at Oakley Place, Greenville, Ohio. She was born on September 3, 1929 to the late Hugh and Gladys (Grote) Hartzell, near Pikeville, Darke County, Ohio.
She is survived by her son Michael “Mike” Pinney: sister DeAnna “Teddi” Blocher: nieces and nephews Onda (Rich) Creager; Paula Livingston; Tom (Annette) Livingston; Candi (Kenny) Cook; Kent (Tonya) Blocher; Sherrie Bradley and Jana Bradley: 10 great- nieces and nephews: 19 great-great nieces and nephews: 1 great-great-great niece.
Preceding her in death are her parents: husband Robert “Bob” Pinney: sisters and brothers-in-laws Donna & Marvin “Puny” Bradley; Mary Ellen and Don Livingston; Ronnie Blocher: nephew Dennis Bradley.
Lila was a homemaker, worked at the family store “Pinney’s IGA” and at Wrights IGA until retirement. She had been an active member of Union City’s Historical Preservation Society; Sun and Fun Garden Club and Darke County Women’s Republican Group. She loved working in her flower beds and unusual trees. She enjoyed shopping and eating out with her close neighbors; attending estate sales and looking for beautiful antique items.
