Lowell H. Gibbons age 85, of New Weston passed away at 5:23 pm Sunday, June 18, 2023, at his residence.
Lowell was born June 3, 1937, in New Weston to the late Ernest Leroy & Ruth Eileen (Sharp) Gibbons. Lowell was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Cole; sisters, Evelyn Cohee and Thelma Jean Barber; and brother, Roger Gibbons.
Lowell is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dianna C. (Cole) Gibbons whom he married January 24, 1971; children, Sherry & Rob Root of Greenville and Rita Karnehm of New Weston; grandchildren, Tiffany Cole, Tollis Quinn, Chase Quinn, Hunter Root and Christion Paris; 7 great grandchildren; and brothers, Lonnie Gibbons of Colorado and Paul Gibbons of Greenville.
Lowell was farm boy from New Weston. He worked at the Darke County Tile Mill in Greenville and retired from Fram Corporation in Greenville. He was a former member of the Greenville Moose Lodge. Lowell loved tinkering around on old clocks, working crossword puzzles and going to Birt’s Candy Store in New Weston.
A celebration of Lowell’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association in Lowell’s memory.
